Wheels and turret not glued yet, have to brush up on my wash/weathering techniques before finishing it off. Primed horses next on the list, those will take some time for sure. Thankfully I have a lighted, magnifying head set, which at my age is just what the doctor ordered.

I really want to see the horses, since I am very bad at both human figures and animals.
congratulations on this work in progress

Thank you! I still haven't started on the horses, maybe a few more days to get started. I haven't painted any horses since the late 80's, yeah, I'm that old. Used to do a lot of the Historex Napoleonic figures back then.

Ok, while I started to work on the two horses, I was rummaging around and found some of my old Historex models. One is of two horses, from a four-horse team, that are pulling a limber and canon. The other is a Death Heads Hussar that I never got around to finishing. These are from the early eighties and might deserve to be re-finished, and in the case of the Hussar, just finished.

Hello  pilots ,i'm working on some very old kits just to refresh my poor skills before messing to much on new expensive models already on my stash.

Wow, modeling "old Fashioned" is so fun...neither resin parts nor photoetched, just out of the box. ?

A few pics of the first horse, just a few touch-ups and I'm calling it done. Second horse should be a little easier based on mistakes made on the first one.

Finally getting near the end. Just a quick mockup to measure overall size for the base. Lots of tiny touch-ups to do.

Hi guys,

Some more progress shots from my snowspeeder. First two picks I put on some decals. The shiny parts are where I sprayed some gloss varniss for the decals but I decided less is more. The last picture I put on some satin varnish and did a pinwash with oilpaint and prepared to do some oilpaint weathering with the dot technic. Getting there and will soon have it finished.

Some progress made. Working on the driver, head still needs some work, but getting there.

So, while I continue to struggle with the head/face, I temporarily started planning for the base. I was thinking cobblestone and started to experiment with using foam. The picture shows the progression as I worked on a small test section. I haven't scaled out the pattern yet, just getting a feel for working with the foam. I'm open to any hints/tips anyone may have.

Cobblestones look awesome to me......Great idea...maybe some light sand in between bricks for dirt and horse poop and I think they will be great.

I haven't been at the modeling table in what seems months , but here is the sloooooow progress on the 1/18th Star fighter ,Custom sculpted pilot figure and Final assembly done today.

Just The base and weathering to finish.

Decals were my 1st attempt at making custom decals myself, I made them look faded just like the large scale model prop, I am so so about how they came out, but I gave it a bash.

That looks great, nice job on the decals. Thanks for the comment on the cobblestone. Will definitely look at adding some sand to fill the voids.

Thanks for the comment Gramps, got a laser printer present over Christmas, Thought I would give my own decals a  a try.

Scaling the decals was a pain, trial and error on a4 paper until they looked right then transfer to decal paper.

I think your horse rig is awesome, looking forward to see the finished article.

Cheers.

Last shot before I get this finished. Have to frame the base with wood trim and then get everything mounted. This was just a test shot to see how the road looked.

Thank you! Yes, I'm hoping to get the wood frame completed today, and then I can start the final assembly, which includes the reins and harness. The reins will be just narrow strips of paper, the harness is made up of 3d printed parts so there isn't much of fudge factor in getting everything aligned.

Finally done, couple little touch-ups needed and an acrylic case. The hardest part was getting the horses into position and lining up the harness parts. Next project is a build of a halftrack for a friend.

Woah, looking grand! Seriously, when you showed the first pictures of that contraption, I didn‘t know what to make from it. But that is truly something any museum could be proud of!

Modelling these days is different. Fetching a 3D printer to produce much needed parts for RC cars:

TCM3-1.jpg.cf20827c76037cb3c4e5f1e1aedbd35d.jpg

And finally modern batteries fit... And then showing the kids how to to design things for the printer.

TCM1-1.jpg.90a7405723e4df7c969f007fd3d193f4.jpg

Leaving the younger alone on Thinkercad... and...

TCM4-1.jpg.3c922f9c870318b9f40b78a2795509ac.jpg

Out comes a 1:32 scale minifigure of Skibidi Toilet Tower Defense, namely the Upgraded Cameraman Titan, paint added.

I mean, seriously....

But at least they are productive.

Hello all !  Here some of my last WIP. a P-38 from Hobby-Boss , a Bf 109 F from ICM and last but not least a little Kubelwagen from Bandai, all in 1/48 scale.

I'm still fighting against my poor skill but nevertheless, I spend a few hours with my brain pleasantly on standby...What a wonderful hobby

Finally finished the T47 Snowspeeder. Making all the windows out of clear plastic was a pain but it came out pretty nice if I do say so myself.
