Not able to set up plane in career.

Since latest update, I can no longer "set up plane" in career.

No options to change armament or remove head rest and so on.

All I have is accept button!

My games are on Steam. Anyone else experienced this?

I can't speak for the latest version, but I had this situation before but that was only for a transfer flight where the squadron moved to another airfield. So maybe your current mission is a transfer?

No, not a transfer flight. Ordinary fighter missions with PWCG and straight game.

I might try a new career, though I hate the thought of deleting the old "pilots".

I had not done too well anyway!

After playing around I found that somehow the game image  had got too wide for my screen.

Don't know how even I managed that!

RedKestrel, I will never manage command a squadron. I should perhaps be the squadron cleaner!

In PWCG you can change the weapon loadout as lowest rank, no need to be any kind of leader.

I did have PWCG which is wonderful [could not play without it] but yesterday something strange happened!

I was fiddling about trying to get the JSGME thing into BOS when my game started an update but in fact re downloaded everything!

I lost my settings, pilots and all.

However, that can be done again. But I can no longer get Pat's mod to work. I am constantly given the "java needed" message even though I had it.

I have since downloaded fresh java but nothing doing.

Do you or anyone else know whether Pat's mod still works after latest update? And, I still can't seem to get the JSGME thing into the right place!

I am on steam.

PWCG is not a mod. It is a stand-alone product that uses 64-bit Java. It is strange that it stopped working given that you haven't uninstalled your 64-bit Java version.

Sorry I called PWCG a "mod". Shows the depth of knowledge I'm afraid.

Having said that, I think it's absolutely wonderful and I can not imagine being without it.

@hebog5 I think there might have been confusion with the mention of JGSME - might have been taken as you're trying to install PWCG with GSME.  

 

The Java needed is almost certainly the need for a 64 bit install.  Unfortunately the download for 64 bit is somewhat buried on the Oracle side, making it easy to install the 32 bit version instead.
