What are you looking forward to the most in Battle of Normandy?

I guess doing the Prillers mission and surviving it would be appealing for someone. But realistically 1941-1942 western front missions would be absolutely fantastic.

So many things but the main one is having to take off from across the channel and doing that trip to the objective while managing fuel tanks. This will be a new exciting experience that we didn't have in BoX before.

 

There are many planes I am eager to fly in the roster and I'm curious of what the ground and sea action will look like.

True I forgot about the 109. I am really really hoping they do not recycle the old 109 3d model again. This could be the perfect time to let whoever has been doing the outstanding 3d models lately to redo the 109 for the new one and upgrade the old ones. Same with the Anton.

Excited about all of those new aircraft.

 

I'm also moderately excited about another Bf109 from a historical perspective. It's subtle but a Normandy era specific Bf109 with all of the appropriate modifications of that time works for me from a completeness point of view.

New experiences....

Ju-88C this (and/or Team Fusion/Tobruk) will be the first time we've had it in a professionally made sim! Similarly the Me-410!

 

I'm also really looking forward to the Typhoon as a different ground attack experience from the Il-2... considering the British deployed it in a somewhat similar role... it will be interesting. The idea of a Tempest which is more of an underdog is also attractive (got to love a challenge). The Mosquito will also be nice... and the P-51B was always somehow appealing to me.

Indeed! We can now re-use the Bf-109F, the Fw-190A3/A5, the A-20, the Spit Vb, and the soon to be released Hurricane over France...! It makes me want a Mustang Mk.1, a Boston III (i.e. British A-20), Do-217, and Fw-190A4/U8! But we'll make do with what we have to fly over Dieppe! I do hope the map makers model it in some detail.

Crazy to think that this will be the NINTH variant in game, and they could still legitimately add the G10 as the tenth.

 

I would actually buy that as a collector plane, out of pure OCD.

I do, while they look similar and bare the name "Me 109", there are significant differences between them which makes them completely different planes.

I also would care for another 190.

I do, hoping the G-6 Late gets the option of the ASM engine it should give the option of a decent high altitude fighter for an earlier timeframe than the K-4 and to be available in higher numbers in late maps as well (as a G-14/AS stand in which was quite common in the BoBP timeframe).

Really excited to try out the Arado Blitz, though I imagine I won't fly it too much since I mostly fly MP and servers will likely heavily restrict it.

This may sound weird but: the map

 

OK, I really like the plane set too, but this map gives us a static front that lasts from 1940 - June 1944.  Even though the battle is 1944 we have the planes to go all the way back to late 41 or early 42.  Rhubarbs!  Spit V and Hurri II vs Me109 F and G and early FW 190.  Introduction of Americans in 1943.  OK, the specific P47 and P38 are too late, but WTH, I'll use them anyway.  Me110 and 410 doing raids in England.  Then 1944 and Normandy.  All on one map.

Try to temper your expectations... from the discussions I've seen no torpedo equipped variant reached operational status. That said, I'm hoping that they go far enough into alternate history (or giving us prototypes) that we can get a Mk-103 equipped version (there seem to have possibly been a handful - albeit not on the map). But I could be deluding myself

I don't need to temper expetations, that was a little provocation and personal wish, ju88a17 would be more obvious choice historically but i'll take anyything.?

My wish is more focused on torpedo bomber as a new gameplay feature rather than on particular plane.....otherwise i would be interested very little in me410.

Same as my vote goes for j88a17 instead of ju88c6.?‍♂️

All of it,  the Normandy invasion is one of my favorite subjects of history so I can't wait to be able to return to those skies virtually like only the IL-2 team can reproduce.  For the aircraft, I'm really looking forward the P-51B, Tiffie and Mossie.  The map should open new scenario opportunities too when combined with the already released aircraft like the Spit V and earlier model 190s and 109s

Just due to the stretch of coastline and various air stations and naval bases (and associated assets) that might end up featuring. And to see areas that I know in real life (sailed quite a bit around the Solent with old man plus my local area is just about included on the map) exist within the simulator. I'm particularly hoping that HMS Daedalus (RNAS Lee-On-Solent) exists, and even better would be if either the Developers or Mr Wilson provide careers with 808 and/or 897 Squadron using the Spitfire Vb (theirs were the LF version) from here supporting the invasion.

 

 

Also though it's quite not something that is part of the Battle of Normandy expansion I also am looking forward to more fuel management being included in the simulator. Just for slipper tanks and fuel gauge pushbuttons to exist in the Spitfires to be honest. Not sure aircraft wise what I am looking forward to the most.
