Update 4.006 Inbound along with Yak-9 and Yak-9T

Attention Pilots!

 

Update 4.006 will probably be released on Tuesday May 19th (tomorrow) if all goes well. If not, we'll try again on Wednesday. So back up anything you want backed up before you attempt the update. This will be a big one, maybe backup your entire IL-2 install folder just in case. Update servers will likely be jammed for a while so please have a bit of patience with us. This update is JAM PACKED with good stuff. We think you'll like it a lot. 

 

Also, I will leave the Yak-9 and Yak-9T Pre-Order discount live for a few more days, but hurry it will end soon! These Yaks are worth every penny. A lot of fun!

It was mentioned by one of the developers a while back that they would have to fudge the testing date with the operational date to get it into Kuban -- but I have no idea what they are going to do with the 9-T however.

 

There is always PWCG though, where you will be able to be a Russian pilot from Moscow to the end of the war (so the Yak 9 certainly has a place in there post Kuban).

Think of it as a disclaimer.

 

Mostly not needed but it covers their backside if there are issues.

 

I think this will prove to be another milestone update like the last couple have been for Il2. 

 

Also apologies if I came over as toxic in previous thread - just like people to try at least career without aids to get a great immersive experience that this sim can deliver.  It delivers many WOW moments - especially if one stuffs up a control press and accidentally jettisons their canopy in the middle of a dog fight and is treated to a WW2 engine symphony as a result. ?

 

@Jason_Williams - Sizzler - you know the Russians can put on great grills/BBQ's.  Nothing better, take it easy on the Baltica though ?

it will be interesting to compare to the P39 with the 37mm? maybe a little easier to fly aggressively? blowing big holes in German planes may be even more fun haha

While it might take extra time when the patch first goes live, even a full install doesn’t take very long anymore. The servers must have been upgraded a few months ago. I get very good d/l speeds when updating the game.

Yes. This has been greatly improved several months ago. I had to struggle with terrible dl speeds since ages. But this is gone. What a relief.

Thanks for the update. This is THE thing that I like most in this gameseries. Updates. I like how we get updates also those older sims, bos and bom and we are not forced to buy latest games to get new stuff. Great desicion to make one big game but still let us choose which one we like to have.
