...just the normal state of affairs really...

I have to congratulate the Devs on this one. Bringing flexibility on dificulty levels as a server option had been requested for quite a while. Flexibility is always a good thing. There will be servers with techno chat on and there will be those without( 1-2 servers i speculate). End of story. Just like Il -2 1946.

Really no need for drama.

Let´s see what drama the FM improvements will bring too.

You can look at color of the exhaust flame from engines for mixtures, no tech chat guys are experts they dont need any tech chats or helpers ( i guess Tips will also not work or whats the point of just removing tech chats), not all fly axis airplanes. Just wait its clearly think through its clear to understanding demands on what MP comunity need.

How can guy in video game playing in airplane that have automatic radiator control have advantage he deserves if there is info about % reads open ? how can he have advantage he buy with some modern hotas vs some guy with basic stick and key controls if there is % of trim and so indicated on screan. Think about them , no tech chat means 0 tech chats messages, its only fair way. Maybe at some point we get rid also from virtual pilots having more then 2 hands, and alow only movment of things that real pilots could move at same time, maybe sometimes that nirvana of full real is achived.

I am sure wings of liberty is not going to turn off tech chat so you can stop be a salty baby. You fly a lagg 3 every single flight and just bounce people over ur own airfield anyways I am not even sure how this effects you in the slightest.

The North Sea in the Bodenplatte map does have different colours. The areas closer to shore are a lighter shade than where the water gets deeper.

In fact, the real-life North Sea is pretty dull and grey. Take this aerial photograph of Noord-Beveland, and the same area within IL2 (actually, the mission builder. I didn't take the trouble of starting up a mission. IL2 will look somewhat better). To me, it's actually a pretty good match (note that the dam that separates the somewhat darker and bluer Veerse Meer from the North sea didn't exist yet back in the 40s).

Fine for the colors then.

But North Sea for what I know in windy and bad weather can have high waves.

Can you have high waves here?

I'm sorry, what is this % thing you are quoting?  I don't understand. ?

Emergency power is easy to deal with, use it only in emergencies and you should be right.  Don't expect to fly combat in Emergency Power setting either Online or in Career - guaranteed way to blow your engine.  If you are used to % and have particular aircraft you like to fly, learn what they sound like when in Combat Power and Emergency, the audio cues are quite well implemented.  For planes other than 109's - learn where the temp gauge is and glance at it regularly. It helps.

De cluttering the view might also make spotting and tracking easier.

Next - learn German, Russian and English ??

And jet you didnt know that its more to it then just RPM, why would i lisen to you when i know better how mods work in game and if game gives me 10min emergancy and then it magicly recovers it in 10min while i can use combat at that time, why would i not use combat or emergancy mods ? if i can play 10 min emergancy 10 min combat and then again 10 min emergancy and then 10 min combat ??? i see in this topic planty of experts who dont use tech chat and jet they dont even know how it works when asked to explain simle things about it ?

Hmm I did a quick test and it seems you're right about the waves. If I set max wind etc. on the Kuban map, I get some pretty nice-looking waves, like you'd expect in real-life. Also, there's the big rolling waves near the coastline. Both are indeed present on the real-life North Sea, but don't appear in-game. Not any waves at all. I don't know what the reason for this is, since they already made the effects for the Kuban map. A simple oversight, or some hidden difficulties in the implementation?

I also noticed the beaches seem rather small. There aren't beaches across the entire Dutch coast (as you can see in the aerial photo I posted earlier, although most of it does have beaches), but where there are, they're actually quite wide. Some 100-200m it seems from Google Satellite, although that does of course depend on the tide. When doing these tests however I could barely fit the landing gear of my Ju-52 on the widest beach I could find. These beaches were already this wide in WW2 (and long before), as you can see in the following image (note the pitiful "Forbidden for Jews" sign).

I assume the screenshots are done on the same time and weather settings, then anyone notice this white halo a second sun shine on the Albatros plane skin and why the new reflect desaturate the colors from the plane skin???

Just a quick question about the visual effects.

With the new deferred shading will the smoke/vapour effects look less cartoonish?

Second question, will there be an overhaul of the visual effects like explosions which also look a bit unimpressive in comparison to the rest of the sim?

Final question, there are often glitches in the effects with smoke/vapour often flickering. Will the vfx be getting an overhaul for Normandy?

Cheers, MP

No, No and No. As we have said many times, we have no special effects artist. Maybe someday.

Yet over revving your engine in a dive can cause the same result even though your manifold pressure is well under engine timer limits.  You can also blow your engine over time keeping your ATA under the "limit" but RPM is just over.

Take it for what it is but whine away % technochat baby.

Glad we have such experts as yourself here to enlighten us.?
