1CGS LukeFF Posted May 2, 2020 1CGS Posted May 2, 2020 (edited) Hey all, I just received today a new controller from @GVL224 that has a 4-position switch on it. It's meant to be a radio frequency knob, so I've been trying to program IL2's Left Alt+C command to it in Joy2Key. Trouble is, since this is a fixed-position switch, Windows is showing a key always being pressed down, so that plays havoc with my mouse & keyboard (at one point, my left and right mouse buttons were swapped). Is there a way to tell Joy2Key to release the key command once I have switched to it? Put another way, let's say that when I switch the knob to position 2, I want it to input "Left Alt + C" once, and then release that command, so it doesn't interfere with anything else. Is that possible? Edited May 2, 2020 by LukeFF
1CGS LukeFF Posted May 3, 2020 Author 1CGS Posted May 3, 2020 So, I finally found a solution. It seems that IL2 doesn't behave well with key combinations when it comes to fixed-position switches, so I changed the key input for the radio frequency command from Left Alt + C to Q. From there, I went into Joy2Key, and for each of the 4 switch positions I went to the Keyboard (Multi) tab and entered in the letter Q in the first input box and then ticked the Execute from Input1 to Input 4 in sequence option. Since Input 2 from Input 4 are blank, this effectively releases the key bind, and so now I can switch between radio channels properly now.
TAIPAN_ Posted May 19, 2020 Posted May 19, 2020 Great you found a solution. If you need further flexibility consider trying Joystick Gremlin. Gremlin allows you to map the Press and Release separately, and assign a pause time to how long you press or hold down the button before releasing. How is GVL224 throttle? Did you review or is there a website you can point me to? I'm stuck on X52 throttle waiting for VKB to release their throttle (may be waiting a long time).

This is actually the 4th unit from GVL I've bought (due to things he's implemented since he first started building these controllers). The movement is very smooth, and everything is right where I want to be. 1 1
