SqwkHappy Posted April 24, 2020 Posted April 24, 2020 Every single career I have played, whether I set the (density?) option to Dense or Scattered, and I've been playing on Scattered lately, no matter what, I get a mission where everything is in slow motion. I checked to see if I accidentally hit the time accel/deccel buttons, I did not. my FPS is fine, running between 40-60 FPS like normal. Sound is normal, everything is normal except everything is moving really, really slow. I thought upgrading to an i7-4770 would resolve this issue but it has not. I know it's not the BEST i7 out there, but it's still an i7 and a good one. So what gives? Anybody else have this issue in careers??? I've always had it happen to me at some point in all of my (short-lived) careers in IL2.
Icer_Cro Posted May 16, 2020 Posted May 16, 2020 (edited) I'm having the same problem, slowmo in career not depending on the settings. BUMP. GTX1070 with I7-6700HQ. Not the newest, but hey, neither is the game, it was launched in what, 2015? As I can see your problem is being ignored by the TS. Nice. How about giving me my money back? I've had nothing but stress and problems with this game - not able to set controls up without editing config files, spotting, glitches. This game is terribly implemented. mrBruce2 Posted May 20, 2020 Posted May 20, 2020 (edited) im playing with a lowly ryzen 5 and don't get any slowdowns, I don't think its a cpu issue @Icer_Cro Are you sure you're not just daft? This game is very user friendly Edited May 20, 2020 by mrBruce2
AtomicP Posted May 24, 2020 Posted May 24, 2020 I have the same problem and it's been reported elsewhere by others. I think it mostly comes down to insufficient CPU performance. My framerate is usually fine but in some cases such as scripted campaigns the in-game clock slows down. So while the game spits out the proper number of frames the simulation bit can't keep up with real time and lags, often by 30% or more. Check the clock in your cockpit when you experience slowdown and time it with a real life stopclock. I'd guess because this problem doesn't affect that many folk and it's chiefly to do with performance, the developers haven't seen fit to address it. What's annoying is that game works fine in some missions but at some point where complexity is high, the performance tanks. But you don't know that until you try playing it. For reference I have an AMD FX-8350 running at stock with a Nvidia GTX 1060 6 GB. As far as I understand this CPU doesn't have the necessary performance per core to ensure good performance in all cases. @mrBruce2 The Ryzen 5 is far more modern and even the low end models are much better than old i5s and my ancient CPU. Way better single thread performance which is what counts in simulations.
