That is some fantastic work, and very useful, one thing I noticed that will confuse some folks.  That is, the controls might need to be color coded as to what experience level the user is flying with.  Easy/Expert/Custom. I don't even want to tell you how many times we have seen guys saying they could not get X to work no matter what they tried.  This may help them to realize they can't use that binding if they are not flying in the correct level of realism to make it function like it should.  LOL and no I don't want to go test them for you......   I fly this level of realism....

Updated. It's up to date. Flying Circus, Normandy (planes that have been released so far), Yak 9s and Hurricane. Everything.

I implemented that Normal/Expert -thing.

I also colored the nationalities (Allied, Axis...) tell me what you think of those.

These new controls joined the party:

- Engine blip switch (Sopwith Camel and Fokker Dr.I)

- Fokker D.VIIF engine: altitude throttle (Fokker D.IIF)

- Fire weapon group 3 (Sopwith Dolphin)

- Gunsight reset (every plane with adjustable sights.)

- Gunsight vertical adjustment and Gunsight twist reset (Typhoon Mk.Ib)

I can’t get any of the filters to work. I’m viewing the spreadsheet in the Sheets app on an iPad and whenever I tap on any part of the filters, I just get a pop up asking me if I want to delete them. Its constantly wanting to edit those filter fields instead of opening the filter drop downs. I’m going to try on my PC. I assume the filters will work on the PC. Perhaps it’s just a limitation of Sheets on the iPad

Yeah it seems Google Sheets on mobile (not just Apple but Android too) can't handle the filter views. Nothing I can do about it...

This is an amazing job and should be a sticky thread. It helped me understand things i was doing wrong or functions I was not using.

 

I don t know how much this will change with the revamping of the control system per plane as per the last dev diary.

 

Now i am looking on how to read from game input file to replace all default value column with the actual settings used in my config. Maybe with this one:

Not sure what you mean... You don't need any permission to use the spreadsheet. No need to even have an account, I can use it in incognito mode. Editing rights is another story, I haven't given out those.

I have the same list with all the controls in the middle sheet. But I don't know how to edit input files, I personally just change the controls one by one in the game.

In the spreadsheet i see Gunsight Filter Toggle (LALT+F) for the P-47D-28, but i can´t make that to work, can´t try the other P47 as i don´t have that one.

Any advice? The filter works fine in other planes.

 

PS: I tried with the engine runing, all eletric systems on.

You have to have the Gyro Gunsight selected.

Guys, I updated the sheet to include the latest planes. Normandy and FC2 are now fully included I think.

 

It's uglier than ever! Everybody can thank Ar 234, which blessed us with at least 15 new controls that no other plane use.

Now i have some new issues, if someone can help, here they are.

 

1 - BF 109-F2 - the tag for Switch Water Radiator Control Mode is correctly marked but BF 109/110, Spitifire Water Radiator Open and BF 109/110, Spitifire Water Radiator Closed are not, they should be?

2 - Fw 190A-5 - Switch Engine Boost (LShift+B) does nothing. Any conditions to make that work?

3 - Fw 190A-8 - Drop Bombs Mode Toggle (LWin+B) and Drop Bomb Delay Toggle (LCTRL+B) does nothing, tried with the AMMO PRESSET N°2 (4 bombs)

1 - I think you found a bug that's crept in the game recently somehow. In F2, as per the plane notes, the pilot shouldn't be able to control the radiators, just fully open them, and I think that's how it worked when I last checked. But now I checked again and the controls worked even though there's no lever in the cockpit. (Unlike F4 and later models)

2 - Strike modification.

3 - Centerline bomb rack with F8 / G8 modification.

4 - Alright, dunno how that slipped through. I'll add it.

5 - You have to switch to manual propeller pitch first.

6 - You found another one, I'll add it.

To be honest, probably not for a while because right now I'm living (temporarily) in a different country, I don't have my sim hardware, which means I'm not playing the game, so I haven't purchased the plane. So I'm probably not going to map it any time soon...

 

But! if any of you want to do the mapping out work, test every button, I just prepared a sheet you could fill:

While the menus do have a download option, unfortunately it doesn't convert well to other formats such as Excel.

I'd suggest the "make a copy" function which will save a copy to your google account. 

If the original does get lost/removed, you'll still have that copy in your own account.

For figuring out the best way to map the keys, this document is unbelievably helpful. I've used this to set up my warthog stick and throttle to fly every aircraft in the game without having to double up any keys unless it makes sense to do so (such as coolant controls for water cooled vs. Radial engines) It's perfect for configuring controls for a VR setup. Also, it's a great reference to immediately tell which aircraft have which features. Thank you for the hard work and for keeping it up to date. Very much appreciated! I wish I could "like" this twice.

yeah... seems like many controls will get duplicate on/off switches, similar to the current landing gear. I need to think how I want the spreadsheet to look like..

I updated the sheet. Big job.

 

I added the new Spitfire and the new IAR80,

I added a "How to use" -sheet.

 

In the Show-filter "[T] Toggles" handles the new separated on/off switches. Keep it unticked.

I also renamed other items in the Show-filter.
