Thanks. I always appreciate video tutorials. Especially all the work that goes into them. Alas being an ex video- and especially audio for video editor for years i found the drawback is that it costs too much time to find just that little thing you want to figure out; most of the rest is listening to a voice, or worse, a Talking Head telling or showing all the stuff one might already know.

When working with complicated software, a well written PDF with a shortcut list (most important) is the quickest way. Jim_TIM and Prangster were sort of god-sent for the FMB, IMO. Alas no runway lights information i found there, but i am curious about the Dynamic Groups file !

See the following in the editor manual:

  • Mark a Runway With Bonfires (pg. 56)
  • Mark a Runway With Lights (pg. 57)

Here is a good way to find information in the manual (assuming you are using Acrobat Reader):

1. In the Edit menu, choose Advanced Search.
    The Search dialog appears.

2. Specify the search options and a search word or phrase and then click the Search button.
All of the results are listed in the Search dialog.

3. Click on a search result or scroll through the results using the up or down arrow key.
The result that you selected is highlighted in the manual.

Thanks Jim. I must have overlooked it; did a search for lights in Sumatra PDF, addobe stuff is far to intrusive IMO, but ...........

PS i tried adownloaded group for runway lights, but half of 'em were not on, i'll try your setup now.

SOLVED PS 2: how do you aim the runway landlighter lights direction as suggested in the manual?

I found it, view the darn thing zoomed in at full daylight, then you can see the direction of the frontlens. The Cntrl  and R function is very rough here for aiming..
