G.50 test, very rough skin to see if it would work for the IJN?

Of what Japanese aircraft is the G.50 supposed to play the role?

PS: great screenshots, thx!

Suggestion was a Nate or Claude with consideration for an Oskar.

Not my suggestion, just someone else's idea.

It's not likely we will ever see the Pacific era in Clod so this is just about the community doing what they do best. Making the best of what we have rather than complaining about what we haven't.

Cheers, MP

Our G.50s in "Cliffs of Dover" as fake Ki-27s and/or fake A5Ms? No way...

Posted (edited)

I guess it's more of a visual stand-in for the Ki-43-I.

Kind of a brutal insult to the Nakajima design because it beats the Fiat in every regard imaginable.

There's no aircraft in "Cliffs of Dover - Blitz" that fits in the suit of the Ki-43. I love the G.50 for her maneuverability and smooth piloting (sadly, the engine is underpowered), but you cannot use it in a Pacific War scenario as a Japanese aircraft. There is no Japanese aircraft that looks like a G.50.

Fortunately, the entire community doesn't revolve around you mate.

This is simply a bit of fun for those of us who realise we are likely not to see a Pacific Theatre and want a bit of imaginary fun.

You are correct, there is no G.50 in Clod that looks like a Japanese aircraft. So what! It appears by using my imagination I can use it in a Pacific War scenario.... I just did!

With so few players in the community, I don't understand why you have to be the gatekeeper for any 'fun' that can be head from using imagination.

It's bit like I am creating a documentary for the BBC!

Maybe TFS will throw in a Zero as a bonus aircraft in v6.0 to fly amongst the repopulated palm tree islands....we know Jason won't be making an expansion that way anytime soon.

When it comes down to it, you don't need to like it, if others do that's upto them.

Chill out mate!

No problem Puma, but I responded in the general forum, here (as the present section in the forums is for posting screenshots only).

If TFS was to ever throw in a Zero and a small Pacific map like Pearl Harbor or Truk and a few Japanese ships (assuming that 1C approves it) it wouldn't be in TF 6.0 but probably in like TF 8.0 or later... when they're making a 1944-45 installment.

However, I like it when people make skins for Japanese planes such as the MC. 202 for the Ki-61, Sunderland for H8K, etc.

MP, if you like then G.50 repaint as a Japanese fighter -- Ki-43 -- then that's fine. ?

There are some great pictures here from CloD... thanks gents.

I can't understand why there are people on these forums that state that CloD looks dated and old... they must have really bad eyesight.

Totally agree.Despite a few serious glitches , when everything works it is simply gorgeous.Last night I flew a pan early ( 4a.m.) morning first mission in the stock campaign Beaufighter “From the Ashes”. As the sun came up in the new cloud landscape it nearly took my breath away…so did landing with mist & fog down to the ground (I used auto pilot for that task!)

Leisure Flight from Biggin Hill (or Tiger Walk as I call this).

First stop Heston, but the crowd wasn't fun so I took off again and swept London after a close encounter with a flight of Gloster Gladiators.

Said hi to to the Queen, Big Ben and Towern and felt a sudden thirst so I payed Hornchurch a visit.

Imagine if the Moth had trim, how not an aching wrist I'd have now.

My French alter ego "Jaques Erienne" took off to confront the german counter attack on Arras today.

Long time no Dewo520 I was a little amazed over the punch this bird delivers, this time Dornier 17s was on the receiving end and my God, the 520 is far more fun and stable than my standard ride (Hurricane).

Sweet Moses.

This time, I won't simply post my emoji Peachy9, let me tell you bravo for such a spectacular image. There's a difference of a second, or fraction of a second, between the first ablaze fuel dropelets and the subsequent thick trail of flames and smoke. All of this is modelled in this game. One word only: spectacular.

Not so Lucky This time - Another damage showcase

Those invincible 110s got me - I have had to reduce their skill to Average or below so they don't outclimb/outturn and snipe me with rear gunners!

This fire was the culmination of a direct hit on the fuel tank. Caught me by surprise...happily had a track saved to replay :)
