need map very simple making tutorial that is current

A long time ago I made many maps for IL-2  the Original Series so have some editor familiarity but have lost the details.

I have started a few tutorials (written and youtube) but keep finding ones that are too old so are not exactly accurate.

I am looking for the simplest and most basic map tutorial that is for this version of the game.

Even just a butt simple example for a coop or SP would be ok to study.

I ran PWCG and was wowed but it is so complex it is boggling but even that was a problem as it chose aircraft that are not included in the BOS premium.

I got it to run by locating the spawn aircraft and changing their model with the Mission Editor.

 

Can some one point me to a current basic mission editor guide for SP or coop?

im new to the game too, I just switched from Il2 1946. but reading this amazing guide is very helpful. sadly  i can't see any missions i create though in the game lol

thx, I have that but it is a little old and I couldn't make it work either. I will look at it again with an eye for possible initial setup errors on my part.

MBX I can get the SP mission with one plane to fly. Here's what I did.

In windows explorer I made a folder SimpleSP : C:\Program Files (x86)\1C Game Studios\IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles\data\Missions\SimpleSP

I followed Create a Singleplayer Mission chapter steps 1-8. Just a plane on a map.

I saved it in the path: C:\Program Files (x86)\1C Game Studios\IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles\data\Missions\SimpleSP

Then launched the game. I found that if I moved the mission files after game was running they would now be recognized.

My SimpleSP folder was in my Missions list and clicking it opened it to show SimpleSP mission for selection.

 

Still working on how to get a coop to work. Can't get the game to allow more than one player plane even with Cooperative set in mission properties.

cheers mate, i reinstalled the game and now it's all working sweet

im still messing with single player, trying to get a bomber intercept mission together and it's all making sense. good luck with coop!

See this post, which shows an extract from the work-not-in-progress-for-now manual. I may pick it up again down the road, but it requires a lot of time and it's low on my list right now.

Thx Jim, I see that I need to choose anything other than player and set cooperative start. That is likely my biggest mistake. I do understand how much time a manual can take. thank you for your work on the manual.
