Parser confirmations

Is it just me or are some Parser confirmations WAAAAAY too lenient? I've had times where I've done not an awful lot to an aircraft, only to find a seemingly free 'kill' in my parser stats later on...

I checked my stats today after a quick sortie and found that someone had been credited with shooting me down on my last sortie. I was a little confused...so I went and checked their stats as well....

....it turned out they got exactly two bullets into me, and a full 13 minutes later I accidentally landed at a disused aerodrome....awarding the pilot a kill! Madness!

Shouldn't that have been regarded as a ditch ? (Btw what are you doing posting in the daytime)

Those abandoned airfields should count as a successful landing, even landings on roads and such. The landing on active airfields could award most of the points, but I don’t consider a ditch if you perform a perfect landing in a farm or next to a city for example (if we did not have soggy soil on the map), or in abandoned airfields.

Parser said he ditched with 0% damage. Cuban Spy did get 2 rounds into him. Perhaps ammo was dipped in curare.

I like the gamble of putting down in a field. Sometimes it works, sometimes it’s a mess.  If I couldn’t successfully land at all then it would be a bit suspect, but I think it works quite well as is.  Landing at an airfield active, or not, should to my mind be considered perfectly acceptable, if a penalty is considered it should be a reduction in allocated points.

The only problem, that I could foresee with not awarding kills, if an aircraft successfully force lands in a field, is that it encourages attacking until the landed aircraft despawns.

Still doing better than me. I've been killed 4X in last 2 days, 3 times on one map. Beginning to feel like Graham. I'm considering tongue kissing an Asian woman with a face mask.

That might be what made them decide to start wearing the face mask.....

I believe the a newer version of stats server software resolves this (the ditching issue, not Klugs mask fetish).

Saw a post about it a week or so ago but can't find it right now.

Obsessive Compulsive Spad Syndrome (OCSS). A curious ailment in which excessive time spent in WW1 Spad aircraft causes bizarre changes in the cranial and facial bones along with elongated picket fence teeth and large ears. There is no known cure although experiments have shown flying the Se5a indicates limited improvement. The clown wagon is definitely to be avoided as symptoms may become worse.

[edit] New evidence emerges that although extensive hair loss is a common symptom, Talbot does not exhibit this symptom and thus may be a non-symptomatic carrier. Experiments are underway by taking hair samples from said carrier perhaps leading to a vaccine.

Yeah, OCSS was first seen in Newguy and Misha.

This is the more advanced version....OCSsS.....Obsessive Compulsive Spad Skinning Syndrome. Additional symptoms include incoherent rambling, hallucinations and rage-induced screeching....

Nooooooo waaaaay.

Nothing looks better than the D7.

SPAD looks like former bodybuilder with a dadbod.  D7 looks like a greek hero chiseled from stone.

Now that I read his post again, Broccoli, I think he's referring to his handywork at painting them. Still, the SPAD  not the prettiest by default, he does a nice job putting lipstick on a pig.... you have to agree ?

THIS JUST IN:

SPAD spotted in Vancouver. We have a lot of SPAD's here. This one was out on his own.

Really? You reckon? I always thought the D.IIIa looked like a strange, unpleasantly deformed Albatros...a cool looking plane, but not a nice looking one!

D.XII is more of a looker for me....

I always thought the DXII would look better with the DVII's wings.

The pfalz d.iii looks like the luxury version of the albatross.

Nah, I like the wings it has.......I can even mistake it for a SPAD if I'm far enough away!

Some truth to that joke, actually...was forever nearly bouncing "Spads" in my hun days...

Oh, I've sat in that plane! (7343). I'll tell you what, pretty luxurious for a WW1 ship...

...The Alby is nearly as pretty as a SPAD VII ;)

Spads are like mosquitos. First they annoy you by swirling around you, then they sting you and flee before you can have retaliation.

And D7s are like spiders....they stay on the ceiling where you can't get them and rely on their silk for their survival ;)

Oops - yeah, was filled to capacity! Cleared it out now
