Beebop Posted February 17, 2020 Posted February 17, 2020 (edited) Are there any re-textures available or in the works for Velikie Luki or Novosokolniki maps to give them Spring and/or Summer and/or Fall textures? They are about the same latitude as Moscow. Or is it that the map has to have an autumn texture to re-texture it? I ask that because I noticed that other map re-textures replace the Autumn map. Uufflakke Posted February 17, 2020 Posted February 17, 2020 There are some screenshots of a WIP summer version of Velikiye Luki https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/17151-developer-diary-part-102-discussion/page/3/?tab=comments#comment-270592 and it seems that LizLemon worked/works on a summer version of the map https://forum.il2sturmovik.ru/topic/491-великие-луки-работа-над-картой/page/41/?tab=comments#comment-716125 I don't know what the current state is though. 1
Beebop Posted February 17, 2020 Author Posted February 17, 2020 Thanks for the info Uufflakke. Zeus's post is nearly 5 years old so I'm guessing the texturing was put aside or dumped. Too bad, it looked very good. Liz's post is more recent so I hope the work continues. Liz has done some real nice things with clouds so I would expect a really nice looking map.
LizLemon Posted February 17, 2020 Posted February 17, 2020 First novo summer textures, then VL, then map making guide. I'm trying something new with making tiled textures that works really well, but there are some annoying things about how stuff is layered on top of maps that is time consuming to change.
Beebop Posted February 17, 2020 Author Posted February 17, 2020 Well Liz, as I have commented before in your other posts, take all the time you need. Your work is well worth the wait.? I am glad to hear you are working on it, even if between other projects. Oh! A map making guide? I would be interested in that!
