=OPFR=ColNinny Posted February 6, 2020 Posted February 6, 2020 A short and simple tutorial on how to convert the non-transferable in-game TRK files to MPEG files so you can watch them out of game. 7 3 4
Raptorattacker Posted February 6, 2020 Posted February 6, 2020 Short and Simple. Just the right length.
jasta11ace Posted February 6, 2020 Posted February 6, 2020 Thanks. Been curious about how to so this. Did a little of it old IL-2.
jasta11ace Posted February 22, 2020 Posted February 22, 2020 I'm missing something after watching this multiple times. I downloaded OBS, I recorded a segment in IL2 to and saved the track in the "new vids folder". I re-played the saved track in IL2 and couldn't get to record into OBS. All I have is a black screen in OBS. Any help would be appreciated.

jasta11ace Posted February 22, 2020 Posted February 22, 2020 Thanks. I typed in IL-2 in in the "Game Capture/ Create new" box. Then under "Mode", "Capture specific window". In Window Match Priority there's the three choices, "Window title must match". etc. In the instruction video the guy typed had typed Minecraft as his source and it showed up in the Window box. The Window box I have has two choices' either Mail or Movies/TV and no IL-2 option. If IL-2 is an exe. it doesn't show up as a choice in the box.

In Window Match Priority, try Match title, otherwise find window of same executable, which is my setting. In Window, I have [Il-2.exe]: Il-2 Sturmovik. Edited February 22, 2020 by JimTM 1
jasta11ace Posted February 22, 2020 Posted February 22, 2020 Thanks, Jim. When you load your saved track in IL-2 what key do you use to record?
JimTM Posted February 22, 2020 Posted February 22, 2020 There's a Hotkey screen (under Settings I think) where you can set up a key to start recording and stop recording.
jasta11ace Posted February 22, 2020 Posted February 22, 2020 Well I ended up with a test mp4 file. Thanks for your help. Is there a way this can be played on OBS or do i have to go into another video editing program?

Haven't used it in awhile, but I think you can replay them in OBS. Here's a link to an open source editor you might like: https://www.openshot.org/?r=about-us

I use Blender for editing videos and VLC Media Player to play videos. Both programs are free. Mikeycal Meyers has great videos on using Blender to edit videos. Edited February 23, 2020 by JimTM

OBS is generally an editing suite so, ergo, once you've edited your footage then you should be able to play it in any media player (as long as it supports MP4, which most do). As @JimTM says, the VLC Media Player is a douzie. Great quality, wide range of options AND FREE!! I personally don't use anything else. Rap 1
jasta11ace Posted February 23, 2020 Posted February 23, 2020 (edited) Thanks Rap, I should've said edit instead of play in OBS. My problem is how to get the MP4 to open in OBS so I can view it in the black rectangle. I tried "Import" and through that route no file showed in the saved vids folder. But it is in the open folder, so I did a click and drag into OBS, and it shows up in the "Source" box. My test recordings are black. I can hear the audio but have no video. I'm going to download VLC media player in the meantime. Ace Edited February 23, 2020 by jasta11ace
kistent Posted November 11, 2020 Posted November 11, 2020 Thanks for your sharing!! I'm quite new to this and I'm now using my RecMaster screen recorder to do some simple video capture for uploading on YouTube and I believe I will try your method in the near future..
gomezzig48 Posted November 10, 2021 Posted November 10, 2021 What program do you usually use to record a screen?
vitoescamilla162 Posted November 12, 2021 Posted November 12, 2021 I prefer using Movavi https://www.movavi.com/, it's really eay to use and the navigation is pretty clear. You can try it out as well, hope it'll help.
