catte Posted January 30, 2020 Posted January 30, 2020 After a short break I wanted to continue playing my Me 262 SP mission and suddenly I see that my EZ.42 u. my R4M missiles, fuel regulation are locked! (after update 4004 !!!) The locks can also be seen on all other BoS, BoM, BoK and BoB aircraft! I only have premium editions where everything is unlocked normally? If someone has an idea, bring it on. Thank you .
=FEW=fernando11 Posted January 30, 2020 Posted January 30, 2020 (edited) Hello. As far as I know the premium=unlocked, regular=locked thing was abandoned arround the time BoM was developed/released... I do not play a Lot of SP. But most likely this modifications are locked based on historical aviability I should clarify. At the start of development of BoS. The modifications and Alonso where locked behind a points progression sistem, with leveling up and such. Unless you bought the premium edition wich had everything unlocked from start. This was abandoned early on while BoM was being developed. I asumed the OP was asking for this topic. But if not. The other answers give all the info that is needed. You can't use modifications ift the map/mission builder decide to. Or if they where not present at that Time or place on the sp campaing Edited January 30, 2020 by =FEW=fernando11 1
40plus Posted January 30, 2020 Posted January 30, 2020 There are no locks or unlocks in this title. If a certain airframe modification or load out is not available it's because the mission restricts it for historical or logistics reasons.
Alexmarine Posted January 30, 2020 Posted January 30, 2020 (edited) @catte As the career mode is aiming to recreate the historical experience of units depicted in it modifications which were not used/not available to that unit in those periods are locked. Obviously in all other modes you have them available to you (except the case of them being locked by server owners due to balance/mission/preference). The system is just like the one in scripted campaings where you have a certain type of plane to fly with only certain modifications available/enforced. Edited January 30, 2020 by ACG_Alexmarine
catte Posted January 30, 2020 Author Posted January 30, 2020 Thanks for the answer. Yes, they are missions from a career. But why was everything unlocked two weeks ago? At BoS + BoK, everything was unlocked, not now.
kendo Posted January 30, 2020 Posted January 30, 2020 (edited) I believe they are continuing to bring improvements and updates for the Career missions, so it may have changed with the last patch. I don't know. The restricted load-outs will likely more accurately reflect the historical situation for the unit/timescale your 262 career represents. R4M rockets would only have been used against large bomber formations in the air defense role, so not available for 262 units in the bomber role, and the gun-sight and fuel adjustment for the engines may only have been historically available after the current time period for your career. 1CGS LukeFF Posted January 30, 2020 1CGS Posted January 30, 2020 (edited) Yes, the aircraft modifications are meant to reflect what was available and what was not at any given point in the game's timeline. For the Me 262, the EZ 42 gyro sight and R4M rockets are not available until March 1945, and the fuel flow regulator becomes available in December 1944. 1 hour ago, kendo said: R4M rockets would only have been used against large bomber formations in the air defense role, so not available for 262 units in the bomber role Interestingly enough, during beta testing of the 262, it was found that some jabo Me 262 units did in fact use R4Ms. 1 hour ago, catte said: But why was everything unlocked two weeks ago? In regards to your first image: the Hs 129 has had the MK 103 date-restricted for quite a while now, while the locking of the MG 151/20 is a more recent change. Edited January 30, 2020 by LukeFF 2 5
Yogiflight Posted January 30, 2020 Posted January 30, 2020 What I noticed in my Ju88 career very positively after the last update, we now don't have only 4x SC250 as bomb load. So far I had three different loadouts, 4x 250kg +28x 50kg, 6x 250kg and 2x 1000kg.

Bridge bombing missions for both the Ju 88 and He 111 now utilize the SC 1000 loadouts. The A-20 and Pe-2 have also received similar attention. Edited January 30, 2020 by LukeFF 1
40plus Posted January 30, 2020 Posted January 30, 2020 I really need to start flying more career missions. As it stands I have a BoM 109 career and a BoM I-16 career . . . . . so much underutilized potential!
FeuerFliegen Posted January 31, 2020 Posted January 31, 2020 I noticed the same thing for the Me262 career. I started one and played one or two missions, then after the recent 4.004 update, I played another mission, and did not have fuel valve regulator available as an option. I'm pretty sure that if I started the career over, those first missions would have also had those options unavailable. The update simply removed certain modifications for certain dates because they were not available in real life at that time period.
