Hi @EffeDB. The latest patch broke this mod.

The folder structure has changed to ../logo/big/wob.

Putting your custom .png image in this folder fixes it.

Could you show full file path please?  I am having trouble finding it in data > swf.

Should I be looking elsewhere?

TIA

..\data\swf\il2\assets\logo\big\wob

...but you won't see that path because the folders/files are packed in swf.gtp.

Presuming you use JSGME or similar, all you need to do is create that path in your MODS directory so that it reads "..\MODS\PreLoader Logo\data\swf\il2\assets\logo\big\wob" and place your version of logo.eng.png in that folder and activate.

Once you've done that you should be able to see "..\data\swf\il2\assets\logo\big\wob\logo.eng.png" in your normal game install.

I created this folder structure and it doesn't work.

New version worked for me.  I just put my selected image in the new downloaded folder and replaced the old one in my MODS folder.

I assume you disabled the old folder in JSGME, removed/deleted it before you installed the new one?

I now have a load screen as shown in my previous post.

Another 'Like' to you EffeDB.  ?

Might works too and all I did was disable the mod in JSGME, add the new path to the mod folder, moved the *png file to the new folder, deleted the old folder path and reactivated...  Works just fine.

Done all that, and still not working. It seems like its just jumping over my logo and goes directly to the default even if I change the number in the name.  TC

I know it might seem too obvious, but do you have "Mods On" enabled in game?

I checked again and mods are enabled. Here's a short video of what I'm getting, it seems like for some reason the opening logo is completely jumping past my personal logo and continuing on to the default. Wondering if I'm missing something. I set the file structure up per your instructions and added my logo to the wob folder and still no go, I will try a different logo when I get home and see if that works, if not then it's has to be something with my game. Thanks TC

Sorry, I made a mistake in the copy uploaded on Mega.nz

Download the mod again, please.

Now it's all right... at least on my computer.

Strange. I downloaded your version of the mod you posted above and it worked fine for me, displaying your custom logo.

All I can think of is maybe there's a conflict with another mod or there are some conflicting files left over somewhere in your install. Maybe try disabling all mods, then delete the assets folder from your game install and then re-enable the mod.

There's something strange, actually.  I've just disabled all the mods and restarted the game: no default logo appears in this case.

Then I've reenabled all my mods and they're working well.

Probably something wrong happened during the last update.... but I don't want to reinstall all the game. Too much gigabytes and time !!!

It was the assets Folder causing the problems, deleted/re-install and all fine.  Thanks TC

It works if used with JSGME but the folder structure is wrong in the file in the first post! ( That's why it doesn't work! )

The correct folder structure is:

MODS\PreLoader Logo\swf\il2\assets\logo\big\wob

Place the image in the wob folder.

They've modified the position in one of the last update ( ...many gigabytes).

I'll change the mod in the future.

Bye.

Just saw this and it looks very cool, and I tried to download this mod but it refuses to download - gives me some error message about mega.nz refusing to connect.  Any chance you could upload it somewhere like Mediafire or something else we can get to from the US?

Yeah - couldn't get that link to work either (same error about mega.nz) - no biggie, in that I was able to just create my own version of the mod by mirroring the folder structure you posted, and it worked great:

2022_11_30__17_30_19.thumb.jpg.7425868d0430ede4a6029ebfe5409483.jpg

One thing though - do you happen to know where the other files are to be able to replace the various intermediary loading screens (e.g., like the ones while you're loading or starting quick missions)?

...but the problem will be the same!

Do you know an anonymous cloud service available in the US?

Yeah - that link didn't work for me either, but as I said I don't really need the link since it's easy to create your own version by using the proper folder structure, as you posted earlier.  Have you found the locations/names for the other loading screen files besides this first/main one?  I'd like to add to the mod to change all of those other screens, but I'd need the folder structure and file names to do that.  Alternately, which .gtp file did you find this main loading screen file in?  I could probably just look inside that .gtp file to find the other ones, assuming they're probably stored nearby.

I use Mediafire for all my uploads - been using it for years and it seems to work great, but I'm not sure how anonymous it really is.

The address is this one:

I'll send it below.

Thanks - I found the images in the gtp file, and it turns out that they are .dds files, not .jpg files., and there are 17 of them.  So, when I added that structure to the mod and filled it with 17 Flying Circus screenshots in .dds format, it worked to replace the intermediate mission-loading screens as well.  Now I just need to figure out how to adjust the files to tell it to use the Flying Circus mini-logo overlay instead of the ones for the other modules.  I'm hoping the secret to that lies in that txt file, but I haven't had time to check it out yet.

[EDIT] Sure enough, the secret was in the text file, although it was best to start with the stock version of the .txt file from the gtp file rather than the one you posted above.

I've mocked up a test version in which all of the pictures and all the logos are from Flying Circus.  These aren't the greatest selection of screenshots - just all I had on hand tonight.  You can of course substitute whatever screenshots you want (and you don't really need to have 17 different ones if you don't want to - if you want fewer choices just use multiple copies of some of the same pictures  - as long as you have 17 files numbered 1-17, it's fine if some of them are actually the same picture).  If you want to check it out, you can get it here:

https://www.mediafire.com/file/jc993n8giyf2nvi/Custom_Loader_Logo_Screen_for_IL-2GB_for_JSGME.zip/file

It's JSGME-ready - just unzip it into your MODS folder and activate it with JSGME as usual.

Thanks for figuring this out and posting the info about where the files were located.
