Jasta 18 Raben May 1918 Skin Pack

Thanks @Rumey for the alpha layer and and Albatros Wood etc!

 

 didn't find a lot of info on these planes so there was SOME research and a few things that I did differently than most modelers. I just bought, from Amazon, Jasta 18 The Red Noses by Greg Wyngarden so I hope to correct any errors in the next little while.

 

**UPDATE!**

 

I've updated the subject heading from April to May 1918, corrected many errors and things that missed. Basically this updated pack won't suck quite a bad as the first one. Initially I didn't have much info to go on but my "Jasta 18-The Red Noses" arrived this past Friday so I was able to gain a little more information there and found a 4 part YouTube video called "Jasta 18 - The Staffel with the Split Personality". It's basically Greg VanWyngarden at a conference promoting his book. Pretty cool.

 

I've also got a very good start on the base Raben Fokker DVII,  but I put that on hold while I fixed this pack.

4 Unknown Alb DVas with 3 alternate wing versions of one of them!

NEW ALBATROS SKIN is Müller's Albatros DVa as described in a pilot report from "Jasta 18 The Red Noses" and based on a profile done by Jim Miller for Greg VanWyngarden. It can be seen here:

Hi Adam hope i got all your skins right, could you please check.

Looks OK. However, with the exception of the Jasta 18 Raben skins and Mickael Carlson skin, I made the rest of those for RoF.  I don't know who brought them into them to FC. Maybe Trupobaw. They need to be 4K'ed which mean complete redos.

not sure mate the others i got from the chapter 1 bundle, they where credited to you. but for the life of me can not remember. what would you like me to do ?

I've been in contact with J2_Jakob. He is taking over in the skinning department at Jasta 2 and will redo the old skins to make them 4K. He also said he's naming them the same as they were in RoF so that the new 4K versions will install right over the old garbage.. He will start with the J2 "fantasy skins" then do the historicals last. In the meantime I don't mind what you've done here. I did do these skins (some of them aren't my design ?) so just keep this for now then when Jakob has finished, he can take credit for the 4K ones.

PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL OF THE FILE NAMES HAVE BEEN CHANGED TO INCLUDE THE DESCRIPTION "RABEN"

 

example: FD7F_J18_RABEN_Unmarked    or    PD3a_J18_RABEN_Muller etc.....
