Hello everybody,

It finally snows in Moscow while we continue the work on the new aircraft. Including the new Collector Planes for both the Western and Eastern fronts of the war - Yak-9, Yak-9T and Hurricane. Today we're ready to show you the progress achieved at the moment for the British Hurricane, which will have 5 (!) different modifications in our sim:

Looking great! I've been waiting for this aircraft to be modeled in IL2 GB since the beginning of the series. My most favorite one.

Excellent! Great to get confirmation that we're getting so many armament types.

I see in the w.i.p pics that it has the Vokes air filter, will we get the standard temperate intake as well?

This will be a great addition to IL-2 GB series. So many different modifications! I cannot wait to use Hurricane as a bomber hunter on TAW. Too bad it's not happening any time soon.

Hurricane weapons mod selection for dummies: ?

 

1. Put lots of small holes in your enemy.

2. Put lots and lots of small holes in your enemy.

3. Put lots of big holes in your enemy.

4. Create a hole where your enemy used to be.

5. In Soviet Union, Socialism demands that all enemies get equal share of large and small holes. And added bonus Bombs!

And the variants are perfect for many virtual years of operations, from late BoB scenarios with the e7, 111 & 88 with the IIa/b, to intruder and hurribomber ops in '41, 2 and 3. YES!

In 1944 in the west it had near entirely been replaced by the Typhoon in the fighter-bomber role, and the poor Hurricane was stuck on training, and ferrying people and post. Hurricanes still fought in the Far East, but on our map you probably would want to stop seeing them on the frontlines about late-42/early-43?

Hopefully we get the option of +12 boost for 1941 and +14/16 boost for 1942.

As has been noted historic Hurricane missions on the Normandy map will have to be set a lot earlier.  A passable representation of the Battle of Britain might be possible, with Bf 109 Es escorting He 111s to attack RAF airfields. The Luftwaffe will of course report all enemy fighters encountered as Spitfires. ?
