IRRE_Golgoth21 Posted January 1, 2020 Posted January 1, 2020 Hello, Since few weeks i experience some memory leak with BOS. Once on a map, i can see memory usage growing slowly but surely. Whatever the map it happens. And after some time, boom ! The system says i have to close IL2 in order to free some memory. And after several minutes after this message.... IL2 crashes. OS : Win 7 64bits patched. Memory : 16 Gig. Free Disk Space : More than 200 gig. Disk not fragmented. GPU : GTX 970 Intel I5 3570 K 3.40 GHz overclocked 4.2 Thank you in advance.
THERION Posted January 1, 2020 Posted January 1, 2020 I also observed a strange behavior when running IL-2 about memory consumption, although never had any crashes, but maybe just because I stopped in the right time before it might have happened. I observed this especially when I was flying MP on Combat Box with the Rhineland map. Usually the memory used was around 7-8 GB. Now, all of a sudden, the memory used rises up to 11-12 GB, although not much has changed on the mission map. OS: Win 10 7 64bit and updated RAM: 16 GB HDD: Free space ca. 700 GB GPU: GTX 970 / 4GB CPU: I7-4770S at 3.7 GHz
IRRE_Golgoth21 Posted January 1, 2020 Author Posted January 1, 2020 yes, it started with Combat Box. I changed the Cache memory management setting to Auto... it seems much better now. i'm still testing, again and again to be sure everything is back to normal. So far, it seems so.
IRRE_Golgoth21 Posted January 2, 2020 Author Posted January 2, 2020 I still have the problem of memory leak. Combat Box. 02/01/2020 22:00 till 22:40 I finished up to more than 8 giga of memory. increasing slowly but surely. Screenshots attached. With 16 Go, it's impossible to avoid a crash. With 32, it seems OK but to what limit ?

IRRE_Golgoth21 Posted January 3, 2020 Author Posted January 3, 2020 In order to be sure my set up is not guilty, i did a fresh Windows 10 install. It seems it is much better now. Memory usage is much lower. I will try further testings in order to clarify this issue is solved or not. To be continued.
Creep Posted January 21, 2020 Posted January 21, 2020 (edited) @-IRRE-golgoth21 Just wanted to check in to see if you have had any further symptoms associated with a memory leak. I ask because I believe I am seeing a memory leak too: I am considering doing a fresh install of IL2, but that's a pain in the butt because I need to be very careful about preserving all of my key bindings, graphics settings, mods, etc. Edited January 23, 2020 by QB.Creep
