IckyATLAS Posted December 30, 2019 Posted December 30, 2019 (edited) When I open with the editor my mission file, all the airfield runways have disappeared. Roads, railways and all the objects of the entire map are there. If I open with the editor a new Kuban map then all the airfield runways are there. I tried a Resave of the mission and no way everything is fine except the runways that are missing, instead is the underlying fields. If I play the mission then all the airfield runways are there and everything is fine. How can I get my runways back (in fact it is the airfield surface that is missing) ? Any clue? did anyone have the same issue? Edited January 6, 2020 by IckyATLAS
WWSitttingDuck Posted December 31, 2019 Posted December 31, 2019 https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/42977-airfield-textures-not-loading/ feb 21 post. Like I said, I know pilots have reservations about fiddling with files, but believe renaming those surface and surfacttex files will resolve your problem. The game will generate new ones.
IckyATLAS Posted January 5, 2020 Author Posted January 5, 2020 I found a simple way to solve this issue. I had saved the whole Mission group as a template. I create a new mission with the map. All the airfield patterns are there. Next I import the Mission template. Everything fits perfectly exactly at the right place. I just have to set the time, and atmospheric conditions, as well as copy in the description text (that was saved in a separate text file) and save the mission and that's all. Now you have a brand new mission file. Maybe this way of doing can help to restore a mission after file corruption. But to do so you need to have all the objects of the map as a unique group and saved in the template directory. 1
jollyjack Posted March 17, 2021 Posted March 17, 2021 This trick i did also with a mission that loaded OK, but crashed the ME each time when saving. Saved the lot as a group, started a new mission, and loaded the needed map. Then loaded the saved group, and al worked again on saving from the ME !
