No Polish names in the career of 308 squadron.

The question is short, what are the reasons for this?
I understand that the regulations required communication in English, but the pilots in this unit were not British.

I think this is just because the name lists come in UK, US, German and Soviet versions only. Making a name list for one squadron was presumably not a high priority.

Perhaps someone will be able to make a mod that does this.

Change the name to whatever you want! Names can be edited at the start of a career

If game does not permit changing the names, you can do it in database editor.
Career information is saved in SQLite file located in Career folder.
I have not tried it myself so backup your data.

This is something that you see with a few other existing squadrons, such as on the East Front with the one or two Italian elements there.

I think the hope is that they'll make namelists for those individual squadrons eventually, but it may just be something that has to wait until we see a full Polish faction or a full Italian faction implemented in the game.

Yea, hopefully at some point we will get proper name lists and maybe even voice acting for the "other nation" squadrons, like the Poles, Slovacks, Italians and so on. I would imagine we are a little closer to that now that aircraft nation can be set in the mission editor, but I imagine it won't happen in the short term.

I don't mean the name "my hero", but the whole squadron.

This is the same situation that foreign Luftwaffe squadrons have (Italians, Spaniards, Slovaks). But I suppose that this can be solved by a mod. True for the duration of the action, he will change names in all squadrons of the side.

All of the squadrons in the game draw from a common database of names for that particular nation. Those files are called xxPilotNames, a cfg file that can be modded by the player. In the case of Rhineland, that filename is 18PilotNames.cfg. Within that file, 201 is Germany, 101 is the USSR, 103 is the US, and 102 is the UK. You can add as many names as you like (I'm working on a file right now that has around 13,000 German surnames). ?

@LukeFF Would I be roughly right in guessing that adding name lists for nations like Poland, Slovakia, etc, would require the creation of whole new nations parallel to the German, British, American, Soviet etc we have, and adding them as their own nations to career? (I imagine this would create difficulties, like not being able to transfer in and out of Polish RAF Squadrons etc)

Also, as a side note, is France considered it's own nation in Flying circus by the mission editor, or is it rolled in with the British because we only have the Spad XIII so far?

Yes, that's correct.

I would have to check that. I've not looked recently at what nations have been added to FC.
