I am currently working on about twenty skins to have a complete Tempest squadron usable in the career mod, for the fall of 1944. then I will make a decline for the beginning of 1945.

16 skins are already finished.
.
I was inspired by the JJ-N of 274 sqdn from the books "2nd Tactical Air Force" by Christopher Shores.

If the codes are all different as well as the landing strips of the fuselage of 2 different models according to the vintage photos. I was so lazy as to make different serial numbers for each plane. The serial number corresponds to the JJ-N.

To wait for some screens.

Good evening everyone

Here is for the end of the year and start a new year well.

 

As promised a complete Tempest Squadron, I chose the 274 Squadron in the fall of 1944.

You have the skins + the thumbnails.
The basic model that I used as an example is the JJ-N in photography in the excellent book "2nd Tactical Air Force" by Christopher Shores.
By modifying the files "Skins", "18Skins" which are respectively in the folder "18" and the folder "script" and file the file "skins.tab.eng" (for a game in English, if you use another language , you will have to create files corresponding to your language. (.eng. ru or .pl)

Attached are my personal files as an example for the career mod.

Despite the number of different skins, it happens that some of them come out twice during a mission, I did not manage to solve this problem.

Marco,

I cannot get the skins and thumbs to show for the rest of the Squadron. I tried adding the files via the JSGME and then each file manually and neither way works. I also noticed the 'tempestmkvs2' with the thumbnails, will not load to the swf folder properly with the JSGME. ) (I tried with and with out this folder in the swf/il2/worldobjects/planes...)

 

Am I missing a step or doing something incorrectly? I would like to get this mod to work so I can add more Group and Squadron skins to more Careers.

Please advise.

1 °) The MOD function is it activated in the game settings ???
2 °) Do the skins work using the QMB. ?? if yes the problem comes only from the installation of the modcareer.
3 °) Is your game configured in English ??? if not in which language ... it can come from the "skinstab" file that I put for a game in English

I just got it to work -

 - Mods enabled

 - Skins work in QMB

 - Configured for English

 

I had to change the folder structure to:

......\modcarrer_for_274sqn\data\scg\scripts

I removed the '18' folder completely and had to manually copy and paste the tempest thumb files to the  'swf/il2/worldobjects/planes' folder still as my JSGME will not load it properly for some reason.

It works now, I can see the thumbs and Squadron Mates have the skins.

I had badly positioned the "scripts" folder which must be in "SCG" at the same level as "18" and not in the "18" folder.

I saw the ocean gray color again, it was darker and more bluish.

It is inspired by the color profiles of the book "2nd Tactical Air Force"

What do you think before I continue the work?

An Hawker Tempest Mk V for  the 274 Sqn march 1945, Volkel."JJ-M" ( NV 722) flown by S/Ldr Walter J.Hibbert.

 

According to the review "Avions N° 227".

 

The Ocean Gray color has been improved compared to my first Tempest series for 1944, thanks to the advice of @Megalaxas well as for nationality badges.
