my buddy and I huge DCS players, are able to make co-op missions to practice, we do dog fighting, bombing and so on.

I can even have us start 5 miles from target at altitude. How do I do that with this game? want to have just the two of us and make certain situations to practice more, especially dog fighting.

thanks

You need to use the mission editor:

IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\bin\editor\STEditor.exe

It has a steep learning curve but it's very powerful.

Well that fixes that, now to the biggest issue, which really sucks!!!!!

Why the !@3$#!@% can't anyone join my game?!?!?

I'm really getting annoyed at this BS with this game. I host and no one can join, so I then DMZ my @#%$#@% modem and now they get the loading screen when trying to join, but eventually get kicked back to the main menu!

Dont have this problem with any other game, whats the deal here?

thanks

This is really my only problem..

i too can’t for the life of me get a personal server working no matter how many ports I open...

dcs is set up, click go, and everyone can join.....

Oh try setting your ping limit on server to greater then 250...  I heard that helps fix if you get it that far

1- What is the location of the mission you want to host ?

2- Open the .list file with a text editor such as notepad+++, and check the path of the file listed.

2- You have to open the port in your box/router of you ISP and direct it to the IP of your PC.

3- You have to open the port in your firewall.

You can join the mission, i can have a look on the .list file

By "check the path of the file listed" Habu means look at the "filename" entries in the .list file that is created when you save your mission. For example,

    filename="multiplayer/dogfight/mymission.eng

indicates that your mission files must be saved in your games folder under data/multiplayer/dogfight. If you moved your mission to a new folder without resaving it in that folder, it will not work.

Using the Mission Editor and running servers isn't for the faint hearted.

Before you embark on such voyages, it's best to accept that there will be problems and not everything will work as you expect.

Time and effort are required, luckily there's usually help here if you ask nice ;)

Make sure your anti-virus program allows IL2 Great Battles.

maybe with a shitty game.. DCS runs circles around this game in terms of advancement and its super easy to embark on those voyages.

no. not moving it at all. I'm trying the stock mission that comes with the darn game and that is doing the same thing. This is nuts, where is the developers !!! we should not be going through this BS!

Salutations,

I generally agree with you and am also frustrated in this area. I have always wanted to get online with a friend or two and have been completely unable to host anything. You are right... it should not be so difficult to do but it is. Connecting online should be straight forward and idiot proof. ( I especially need that idiot part ).

After a LOT of trial and error.... I have simply given up trying to host anything. It is indeed frustrating and disappointing. ?

Totally agreed. There are some things that just need fixing, this being one of them.

I was in the same situation, trying to fly with a buddy, but we couldn't get there and have ended up just doing public multiplayer which has its place but damn I miss custom coops.
