Dutch2 Posted July 6, 2020 Posted July 6, 2020 (edited) @Tom_Weiss right now I’m flying your A. Lemmens Mustang skin in PWCG, but when seeing some other (Mustang) skins that are looking the same, I always compare and trying to see the difference in the skills from skinners. I must say after comparing one of your skins to other skinmakers (actually from two other skinners) your skin is much better from cockpit VR view, your aluminum is like real metal that reflect differently depending on the sun, while from the other two skin makers the aluminum is more grayish. The same is to all the rivets in the wing that on one skin that I did compare, was nothing more as an fuzzy dot and the engine cover color, the other was a little bit to UV-candy colored. I know it is all a very personal taste and restricted to an VR pov, but I do like your skin design approach. Thanks for taking effort in making these skins, I do hope one day I can put in another Mustang skin request. Edited July 10, 2020 by Dutch2 spell 1

ZachariasX Posted July 10, 2020 Posted July 10, 2020 (edited) Tom, these are absolutely great skins. But since you asked, can you make some more of the Swiss liveries? For example: J-901 Spoiler J-2076 and the green camo that they applied in the 50's on J-2112 (and others) Spoiler Some stencils: Spoiler A gallery of how they looked: https://swissmustangs.ch/service-period-1948-1958.shtml Anyway, big fan of your work! Tom_Weiss Posted July 10, 2020 Author Posted July 10, 2020 I am doing a Fleet Air Arm Spitfire and another USAAF P-51 now , I'll do the Swiss as well as soon as I finish those two. 1 1

Some stencils: Absolutely agree. I use the latest version enhanced for deferred shading and the skin looks stunning good. I'm a big fan of all "weathered" versions! The Swiss skins are certainly a "niche" product, but it's much appreciated! WRT the "stencils": Can you upload them with better resolution? I suppose in their current res they can't be of much use for 4K textures. But maybe I am wrong...

If required, If it would be of help, at the museum I could get some fotos of the stencils (along with a scale) of the one that Tom already did. As well as specific details. I figure the military Mustangs received all the same stencils. J-901 might be the exeption here, as it is the paint job of a restoration for civilian operation of the aircraft. It looks polished clean.

=TBAS=jamesirjames Posted March 16, 2021 Posted March 16, 2021 Tom, these are awesome! Just downloaded my faves which were almost all of em!

Tom did master the metal and 3D rivets, while other skinners have difficulties with blanc metal (using fuzzy pink) or making flat surfaces, Tom found a method to bring in the extra finesse that did make his later skins a new benchmark in BoX skins. Especially while flying in VR . He was also making for me the famous red 1:72 revell mustang but did not finish it because of his dead. May Tom RIP. ? 1
