Cthulhus Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 Hello Any way to remove the "2D" HUD in VR (but keep other information like map and other marks). Thanks
G_Schwarz Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 just press i or H or try Ctr+i maybe you will get what you want, other than that am not sure
Cthulhus Posted October 18, 2019 Author Posted October 18, 2019 I or CTRL + I remove everything. HUD + all other indication. I would like simply remove the data on the red square on my image.
G_Schwarz Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 go to settings then Flight interface and change the HUD Transparency to 10%
Jaegermeister Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 You can turn it off completely, but the minimap goes with it. Uncheck "show instruments" in difficulty settings accessed from the mission load screen. I also have HUD and Minimap toggles on HOTAS keys. I turn HUD on and toggle through minimap views and then toggle HUD back off. Recently I leave it totally off, and don't use the minimap. I toggle on the mission briefing map if I need it at 50% transparency. 1
40plus Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 I struggle with the same restrictions on options. I want navigation markers but not target markers. I don't want the hud but I DO want the radio chatter messages because I don't speak German and can't understand them. I have been able to do what you're asking just by using the "I" (or was it "H") commands. I can't remember which ones they are because they are mapped to my HOTAS.

Same here. 3DMigoto helps some of those issues. Edit... I should have been more specific, I can’t remember the control commands either. Turning the instrument HUD off in realism settings and using 3DMigoto to reduce the icons will pretty much do what you are looking for. You can turn off the technochat and text messages that way too and just have a 3D cockpit with nothing but faded out icons. We really don’t even need those any more with the modified spotting settings Edited October 19, 2019 by Jaegermeister
Cthulhus Posted October 18, 2019 Author Posted October 18, 2019 That could be great of 1C Game can add some option to chose what we what on screen instead of a full on/off toggle. 1
Sgt_Joch Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 You can turn it off in the realism settings, "instrument panel" as I recall. It is a useless crutch which you do not not need. You can can get the same info just by reading the instrument in your cockpit, like real pilots do.
Goffik Posted October 19, 2019 Posted October 19, 2019 You might also want to check out this icon mod. It offers various versions which tweak, change or remove various icons and HUD elements, offering far more customisation than the game alone allows. As a VR user myself, I have all HUD elements off except plane markers, greatly reduced in size by the mod, which help with identification. It's definitely worth getting used to reading your own cockpit instruments rather than using the HUD as it really adds to immersion in VR. There are plenty of guides out there to show you what the various gauges mean if you don't speak the language, though most are pretty easy to figure out by the units they use.
