Cockpit photo as checklist

Hey, I like looking at photos of pretty ladies as much as the next guy but I thought the photo might be put to better use as a list of parameters. I have a hard time remembering the engine limitations for all the planes. I took the reference from the Quick reference by Jade_Monkey 

and put the important info (to me) into text using Photoshop. I'm sure you could do the same using any graphics or text program... you just have to be able to convert it to .dds. 

I've added a link to those that I've done so far. I will be doing more as time allows.

These are my completed cockpit info photos in the correct file structure. Either copy the data folder to your main game folder - IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad or into a temp folder then paste it over.

 

The file structure is: 

1C Game Studios\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data\graphics\Planes\whichever aircraft\Textures

Make sure the file is named custom_photo.dds

Back-up the original custom_photo if you want to keep it.

 

Make sure you enable "Photo" in the "Pilot Stuff" tab in the "Plane Settings" (Where you select fuel load, ammo, skins, etc.).

This would be great,

if there was a server setting to disable the Technochat...

as it stands, its a brilliant idea, but pretty redundant....

A lot of people fly with HUD disabled, especially VR fellas as FPS increases with it off.

and rename it to custom_photo.dds

Exactly! But I think one photo is enough and "historically" correct - or would you like to have your whole photo album with you?

No I was thinking about several choices. If all files named the same you only can have one picture in same folder

Indeed, that's how it works at the moment. Whether devs are going to expand this functionality to multiple photo choice remains to be seen.

Well most of us debated about FM, DM, plane setting...how it was in RL and how it is here....pilots simply used photos of their wifes and girlfriends...

Im sure they did, but Ive not joined the RAF nor has my country been bombed by the 3rd Reich

 

Im sure folk putting ref cards in their aircraft wont affect your gameplay!

1600 in the Camel. I do not remember for the Bristol but they are stated on a plaque.
