I had to return briefly so as to clean up a blemish on the Pour le Merite board.

How does one extinguish an engine fire?  Do you cut power or reduce mixture and dive?  How fast do you need to get going?

I saved my vr life also by extinguishing burning engine in Camel, dived head down from 5000ft, with full rudder , doesn't matter right or left since engine if in central position.

Uh, apperantly I died in capitivity. I imagine that it is always hard to be notified of your own death by the local newspaper :scare:

A strange new illness sweeping through POW camps...

Symptoms include: Being woken at dawn by riflemen, sudden loss of vision, and the sensation of being tied to a post....

(Even the chronicle can't get everything right! ;) )

I'm just glad the execution command couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. Maybe they blindfolded the wrong guys?

Your Bosche chivalry must have rubbed off on them ?

Now we need a firing squad for the firing squad. Great.

Good stuff!

Yea, we have heave looses, those Huns are strong opponents S!. The k/d ratio always will  be on the only fighter squadrons side, 1PL s is doing jobs deep into hunland territory which is great risk but it's only way to win the month and we like it ! We all need to help two seateras doing their jobs (or suppress other side doing theirs), this is what scouts are for.

Any way 1PL 3,4 K/D is not bad at all :P

You mean the Entente has won already? Only 'Good Guys' that can stop the Entente advance is our generals ;)

I'm so disappointed.   You missed the other part of the joke...perhaps you are all just being kind and not wanting to call me out on my erroneous erudition....or perhaps it was too subtle on my part.   Reread carefully. ?

You'll have to excuse our adjutant. Hes spent far too long in the paint shed working on paint schemes.

Who let him out anyway?!

Is he back on sniffing dope again?

We try to stay away from the paint shed. Hear terrible things. Don't want to know what's going on in there.

"It remains to be seen if the War Offices of each nation will attempt to address the issue".

The chaotic reports of sources on both sides makes it hard to get coherent image of the problem and the response. The 1917 accursations campaign against Royal Aircraft Establisment seems to have been renewed Britain, with cries of S.E.5 being "new fokker fodder". There are also rumours of investigation into material standards of Fokker factories , and calls to ground the D.VII airframes until it is concluded (as was done with Dr.I and E.V models). On the other hand, many sources close to frontline tell us the failures are defeatist hysteries. "You weren't there!" told us an anonymous Mark I tank commander, whom we interviewed when he was picking new binoculars from a depot "You know nothing!".

 There we go, immortalised forever among "The 15".

I'm rather astounded I've managed such a number this month (previous virtual lives have claimed single digits, eleven at most) and consider my current success just down to the guys that I've been flying alongside on Discord (@Zatch and @HagarTheHorrible plus others) combined with some rather good luck (some silly flying accidents that ought to have seen me off).

Well done Ace pilots. It is great to see @Oliver88 rising in the leader board.

As to the issue of parachutes, I’m writing to Whitehall informing them I am not a coward, just would rather a bit of shade as I fall to earth after being shot up.
