Luse is a human economic stimulus package for the flight sim and peripheral industry, and we owe him our gratitude.

Yeah, I'm a little tempted myself. And YouTube isn't helping, since it decided to add this to its suggested viewing list:

Given the choice, I'd rather be flying into a virtual Narsarsuaq in a DC-3 or similar noisy smelly rattling contraption, but the MB-339 at least has proper dials in the cockpit. I'm getting rather tired of looking at Garmin displays.

I know:biggrin: but when it comes to shiny things so do I.   MSFS 2020 is definitely in the shiny thing category.  Andy's video isn't helping......

Saw a review on the MB339. Was a little disappointed the engine sound doesn’t change when you close the canopy.

Also saw review on the LongEZ and FS2020 flight model doesn’t handle canard aircraft. Whether this will be added in future is unclear.

I’m now downloading the MB339. I also decided to buy the Orbx Sydney add-on.

I haven't seen it on the Ingame Marketplace yet, bought it straight here:

https://secure.simmarket.com/indiafoxtecho-mb-339-msfs.phtml

It's just the Plane's "mod" folder which goes straight to your Community folder.

If you're keen to have some kind of automated install, buy from Orbx instead:

https://orbxdirect.com/product/indiafoxtecho-mb339-msfs

That'll get you a semi-automatic install through the "Orbx Central" tool.

MB339 is fun. Like zipping around in a sports car.

Be nice if it had a HUD and hopefully they will fix the sound when canopy is closed.

Maybe add functional ejection seats?

Do the mirrors work?

Not mine but I asm not suree if it caN BE TURNED ON Sorry caps flying atm. I got some  bad textures in the pit. like looking through a net. I might have to do some graphic settings

I don’t do civilian flight sims (not since the original MFS) but you guys posting about this MB339 have me re-thinking this.

Maybe after my new PC build early next year.

Downloading as we speak. :drinks:

Gonna be some canyon runs tonight!

I think the sun glare make some ugly mask in the pit. It is gone when zoom in.
but the plane is just awesome.

You’ll cave in... think what it will be like zipping around the Mach Loop. Rainbow Canyon or “Star Wars” canyon also comes to mind. I think there is another famous canyon in Oman or there abouts....

You'll cave, you have to. You're as much a flightsimhead as anyone else here, and boomin' and zoomin' and tearing through the best scenery ever made at 100' at 400mph... it's irresistible! I was just bombing around Montreal and it was a ton of fun.

The MB brings the sim up a level with the speed and the excellent visibility from the cockpit. You could go this fast in the 747, but you couldn't see anything. Now it's a great show. I don't think it's just a question of it being a civilian flightsim, I think it's that we've never seen this kind of flightsim action before. It's kinda the same reason I bought the DCS F-18 and the Supercarrier; it's best, most high-tech representation of flightsim carrier action available. And for that reason I got it. FS2020 is hitting those same notes.

Grab it now.  Your existing computer surely can’t be any worse than mine and it’s bonkers how enjoyable this sim is.

I have a strong system - but heavily involved in the “Mossie Project” at this juncture anyway. So that accounts for most of my free puter time.

I’ll add it to my “when I'm free” list.

I'm intrigued but two things have stopped me Feathered.

  • Download speed. Mine is approx 37 mbps. That's bad enough. But what was your actual D/L speed when downloading FS2020 from wherever it was ?
  • Drive space. My OS and games are on the C drive which doesn't have enough space for FS2020. I have a 1.8 TB F drive which is just a storage garage essentially. So plenty of space there. Can this be used to install and fly FS2020 without too much friggin' around?

One other thing. Can you fly under bridges? This is most important.

Anyone notice the MB339 seems a little more demanding on your system? Maybe because the speed requires faster redraws? I was running at ultra setting with traffic, ships and other stuff at 100. Reflections and other stuff at ultra.

With the MB339 it would drop from 45fps to 22-25 at low level over certain areas. I had to turn things like reflections, blooms down to medium, drop the traffic and other traffic setting down to the 60's. I'm still running terrain, buildings, trees at ultra and can maintain a minimum of 30fps most of the time, but even at 45 fps its seems like there is a slight sense of jerkiness.

Reflections make odd visuals on cockpit for me

Posted

I find the buffeting seems a bit heavy at times - that could be due to the "SoFly" weather presets, not sure.  And after the plane iced up when I went above the clouds, it stayed iced up even when I came down really low. But I still love this plane. Pretty decent night lighting in the cockpit, too.

A decent fast mover with good visibility really makes the big airports a lot of fun.

Hi Catchov, you sound like you have a setup very much like mine.

• My download speed is rated at 37mbps too.  The actual DL was coming in at the highest speeds I’ve ever seen, at anything up to 14mb a second when normally it will be lucky to nudge 5mb on a very good day.   The download was about 12-14 hours which I spread over 3 days.

• With drive space, I set the installation path for the download and the texture cache to go to an external 2tb hard drive that is connected to my computer with a USB2 cable.  Like you, I have no room on my C or D drives.  It seems to run fine this way. Maybe the load time is a bit longer, but it’s no biggie.

• Flying under bridges:  What sort of flamin’ hooligan do you take me for...???

Same, not installed on C:\ no issues that I can tell.

Bridges, depends on the bridge and the state of your undercarriage (fnar fnar) I think. I haven't bothered trying.

Same sort of flamin' hooligan as I am lol.

Thanks for the feedback mate. Hmmm 3 days. I guess I've got the time. It does look rather ground breaking! And Luse seems to rather like it.

Interesting that you're got it running well off an external drive ...

Lastly do I have to sign up to some microsoft app or something? I generally hate doing that stuff. Friggin passwords **eyeroll**

You definitely need a microsoft account and I think an xbox account (could be wrong), no need to download an App or anything.

For me it was a savior if a beloved hobby. I have to point out I have only gratitude towards GB cod and DCS. But I grown a major fatigue on all. This is a groundbreaking fast in fast out gem of s sim. It is the pretty sister to DCS with no bitching aggression.
I am sure I get back to all other cfs after a while and this will keep me away from being fed up again

That's just because the "AppData" folder in there is hidden.

You can enable showing hidden files and folders in the Explorer, or simply click into the address bar on top (where it says "C:\Users\<your username>") and enter the following:

%LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Community

That'll get you right to the Community Folder of MSFS 2020.

Me too.  For a couple of years now I had been wondering if I had just grown out of flight sims.  They didn't seem to be going anywhere in the ways that mattered to me.

I soon noticed GB was moving into a direction not suiting me well.
dogfight demands a kind of presence I do not have. I kind of do not want to deal with other people while flying, flying is my escape from such human interaction.
DCS got great campaigns, MI 8 civil missions in campaign demand a level of skills that can endlessly be improved. But one need to have a brake from it.
I feel a good vintage airplane with full fidelity in this sim will keep me flying for years. You mentioned the Rapid. I be happy for it. My special dream is a HE 115.
utter useless in GB if not great improvements in what to do. But in FS 2020 I feel it can be flown for what it was. A pby is more likely or DC 3, non witch would make me unhappy
