HarleyDavidson 13 Posted September 26, 2019 An amazing aircraft for IL2 would be the Avro Landcaster bomber. No other game in my knowledge have ever attempted to use this aircraft. Russian lend/lease had many Landcasters delivered and use by the VVS. https://vvsairwar.com/2016/08/12/the-soviet-unions-british-built-avro-lancasters/ Hopefully the Devs will see it as a real asset to the game. Not according to the source you have just linked they didn't. An not according to any other source I've seen, either.
Melonfish 187 Posted September 26, 2019 Baby steps. We need to see if the B25 is flyable first, apparently the difficulty is the turrets. however if they pull it off there may be a chance we'll see heavier bombers in future but i'm not 100% on us getting 4 engined jobs due to the distanced they'd normally fly. besides i'd rather see the halifax over the lancaster 😄

I agree. The B-25 is a testbed. Hopefully they can find a way to integrate larger bomberstreams and/or 4-engine bomber formations in this game-engine and we don´t have to wait 5 years for the next game-engine which hopefully will be capable to render plane formations that already Il-1946 can do. Semor76 621 Posted September 26, 2019 (edited) LooL. It´s getting bizzare here. This game engine already struggels to handle even more than 12 twin engine planes and a bunch of fighters at one time and the guys came around the corner with russian Lancasters... Made my day. Elem 447 Posted September 26, 2019 HP Hampden is a more logical and usable British built Lend-Lease bomber option.

Well, they were at least used as torpedo bombers, unlike the two Lancasters the Soviets salvaged, which were only ever used as transports.

"The Flying suitcase" appears one squadron 24 MTAP used them only and in the torpedo bomber role, which I reckon would be immense fun. but then anything with a torpedo and a large amount of bigger ships/convoys would be fun

Just be thankful you didn't get the usual 4 engine spin and that even the end of the world will never happen! On second thoughts let’s just have a Manchester!
