Hi , as we know shift (pinky) button register hat, trigger, and top buttons as additional buttons. Is it possible to use this pinky button to modify base buttons. I play in VR and it would be much faster to use those base buttons with pinky button than with mode button.

If you don’t mind running Joy2key on the background, you can assign modifier key to any button.

I have right and left shift/ctrl assigned to a 4-way button on my Virpil throttle thus increasing the functions fourfold.

Possible is, but require  create a new button profile, what require knowledge in use VBKB DevCfg software, whose manual is something like Apollo 11 DSKY ACG computer manual. :)

 

I try but don't understand the logic of "lines" and "virtual" and "logic" buttons.

 

Time ago I ask for a guy in VKB forum about this, and he are able to make pinky and mode button work over base buttons, but in their profile result that grip buttons assume high numbers - above #64, what make then invisible for Bo'X' requiring use keymapper software.

 

The ideal is grip buttons (trigger, top and HAT) using

Mode 1

# 1 and 2

Under pinky

# 3, 4 and 5, 6, 7, 8 (last 4 for HAT)

Mode 2

# 9, 10

Under pinky 

# 11, 12 and 13, 14, 15, 16

 

Base buttons starting for Mode 1 from # 17 and following the same logic under pink, what represent more 40 buttons.

 

For strange reason VKB default profile set button # 1 in base and grip buttons starting # 14.

@Sokol1 You seem to know your way around the VKB config set up.

I've long been a fan of VKB products and had many hours flying with a Gladiator MkII (non pro). I now have a VKB Gunfighter WWII Pro and have flashed the black box firmware to latest version and was able to change the pinkie button to Shift in the config app. But when I try to key map in game settings it sees the pinkie as a separate function, not a blind shift.

How can I get the pinkie button to act as a shift?

In Gladiator - non PRO, by default pinky button is "shift" for other grip buttons (trigger, top button and HAT).

 

This pinky button is not visible for games, what do is, in Mode 1 trigger is button#14, with pinky (shift) pressed is #15, in Mode 2 is #16 and #17.

 

How set this buttons for create another virtual buttons in VKB DevCfg I dont know.

 

You have set Gunfighter +KG12 in the same way?

 

Or you have set in this way, but pinky still visible for games as DX button?

I've tried setting it in vkb config but IL2 sees it as another button.

Using the vkb tester the pinkie is just another button also and holding it and pressing others only repeats the original readings.

I've deleted and reset firmware with bootloader but no improvement. If the firmware were correct the pinkie would be shift by default but I can't force it to work.

I ran a Device Report and it says my keys are for test purposes only and key mapping is turned off. How can I turn key mapping on?

Look at this profiles (load with VKB DevCfg), the first has "shift", allowing use 12 buttons on KG-12A grip, probable trigger, top button and HAT N-S-E-W x 2.

I suggest ask for help in VKB forum, the guy that wrote DevCfg manual (VictorUS) used to help there.
