Samsung Odyssey+ VR Audio Issues

IL-2 on my Odyssey+ looks AMAZING but I cannot get audio to work through the headset speakers. Launching IL-2 is a bit awkward, and I have to use the mouse to start the game, but once in all is well - apart from the audio insisting on coming out of my PC 3.5mm speakers. My Windows WMR setup has "When Mixed Reality Portal is running, switch to headset audio" ticked, and I have also tried forcing my way back to the desktop to ensure the headset audio output, "Speakers (Realtek USB 2.0 Audio)", is selected, but no joy with IL-2 audio coming through the headset.

 

Any thoughts?

 

I'm having mixed joy with IL-2 and DCS running with WMR - it's all a bit disjointed, isn't it, with little in the way of consistent support for Steam VR and WMR and the combinations of headsets and controllers that these platforms bring.

@mroshaw You will need to go to SteamVR Settings > Audio and check the box to switch sound to your HMD when the app is launched.

There is also a box to activate the HMD microphone which you will need if you plan to use Discord or Teamspeak.

I assume you have SteamVR set to start when IL2 is launched.

First start WMR app and move the HMD up/down/right/left for it to orient itself then minimize WMR. Place the HMD in front of you at eye level and launch IL2. When it begins place the HMD on your head and you should be good to go.

Welcome to IL*2 and VR.

I can't imagine flying without VR.

 

You should download this mod for increased zoom to make spotting easier.
