wings of liberty questions newbie

hello

i just started playing online and have a couple of questions to make ,First when i wait in a fighter at the base  with the purpose of joining another fighter or bomber and fly together ,  as soon as they take off they disappear ??!!! this happened at least 3 times and so i left the server  and asking here why does this happen ? secondly one flight of 4 BF's with Hungarian skins took off as well again same issue they disappeared soon after take off but my question here is why did they have skins of their choice and  we are not allowed to ?

You should consider first and foremost post your questions in the correct topic:

 

 

I've never seen anyone disappear as you described. What you are probably referring to is that they took off and after getting outside of the 10km range from you they no longer render for you. That is a game limitation and will happen in any MP server as well as SP.

You can select your skin before you spawn in. Just setup your plane before hand and pick the one you want. Currently, only official skins are allowed.

i am sure off what i see ,they disappear before the end of the runway when taking off , this happened enough times for me to revert to the forum  , i am following them in the take off and then they disappear i gain height and circle the field but they are  nowhere  . Its a shame because i'd like to fly with them  .  Is there a solution ? secondly if i chose a  russian aircraft i cannot take off , the engine does not gain enough power to fly . why is that ?  i went out and checked in single player all normal .

I dont think there is a solution because as far as I know this only happens to you. Maybe someone that is having the same issue can help out here but, like I said, I've never heard of such issue before. You cannot take off in VVS airplanes because you are probably not increasing you rpm enough ... perhaps you should try taking a look at some tutorial videos online.

I have no answer for the disappearances but, you might want to make sure that you've manually set the RPM to 100% on the Russian planes before you try to takeoff.  They should all get off the ground with the max weight loadout you select.  Except for the Po-2 biplane. That's the only one I know of that selecting all the available options makes it too heavy.  Some others need longer runways with heavier loadouts - like the P-47 but, should still make it.  

 

There's also YouTube tutorials on all planes by SYN-Requiem available to watch.  Each will show start-up, takeoff and landing + give information on what settings to use so you don't blow up the motor.

How do you see the compass in the YAK 1 ? there is no set key  or slot for it .

Settings:  Pilot Head Control:  Pilot Head Snap Position Modifier: Custom.  Should look right at all the gauges.

on what settings in realisam are you playing offline, online its mostly expert settings, maybe thats why you have problems you have online and not offline

In single player mode are you starting from being parked or on the runway?  It is likely that if you're starting already on the runway, the default RPM setting is 100%.  If you are parked it will be probably be default 0%.

I am continuously getting shot down flying on my own  , are members using team speak to cover each other ? If so how do you join a squadron or other players taking off from same base ?

Hello Dog1 WOL has a TS Server  ts.aviaskins.com but I have never hung around in that server so don't know how many people use it!

As for getting shot down, yes working together as a squad would definitely increase your odds, but I took a 10 year hiatus in Combat Sims, and getting back into it in January was absolutely brutal!  It takes a good six months just to be competent let alone being an online ace!

i joined combat box and discord but i cant find the forum . they say contact us through discord . thanks Der sherrif  link , will go through the tutorials specially the ones for aircraft i currently use  . i  havent bought early access Bodenplatte  so no late war machinery . I have the FW190 A5 and LA5FN  add ons  if you consider them late war .

i see some players have shot down 5-8 planes in 30 mn !!! does that mean every time they land at an airfield it automatically reloads ?

most coordinated players you see are on some ts3 or discort, either of that server or more likely of their squadron, only few players try to coordinate in ingame chat and usealy ppl just ignor them and tell them to join ts3 as its imposible to do any serious coordination by chat and they would just be distraction.

 

in game chat is useaful to report some enemy position you randomly encounter ( by giving coordinate alt, hdg and number of enemys) call out 6 on ppl not in your ts3/discort or ask for help, for anything more voice coms are best.

 

regarding wol ts3, you have up to 20 regular red players playing on wol coordinating on wol ts3 (usaly around 17-22hcet times), but most if not all are russians (some speek english) and most comunication is in russian, also on blue side you have up to 10 also russians mostly coordinating their actions on wol server.

 

So what you as new guy do is just join ts3 enter channel of side you play and ask if you can join them and so on 

 

most of the time who win the mission is decided by thouse blue or red guys on wol ts3 as they can be effective, they can then direct others by chat where they should go but thats not as effective when you have even 4-8ppl coordinating their action on ts3, objectives can be cleared realy fast that way.

 

where most english speaking players go when they are on wol who knows, maybe oficial bos ts3 if you dont speek russian is good option

thank you for clarifying my queries . Apart from my time zone i note there is  a language barrier . So the best strategy i can think off is to tag on at take off . I wanted to join the TANGMERE squadron previously but it meant getting up 3 am .  I have TS3 ,so i will try using my side  at random .
