Tapi Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 Is it possible to identify player while airborne and send him message? (talking about full real MP server with no icons) E.G. I wan to join someone after take off or even while I am standing on the apron and I would like to know who is the guy who fly/stand just left of me and send a message to him.... Sending general message to the chat (CTRL + ENTER) is not very pointed... Well, joining the teamspeak (if there is my actual MP server dedicated one), and ask on the friendly channel could be the solution but only in a case the other player is connected too... So again no quick and fully functional solution while airborne.
JimTM Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 No, but the server administrator can send a message to a particular player.
Tapi Posted July 2, 2019 Author Posted July 2, 2019 (edited) OK, thanks. So the only possibilty for ad hoc cooperation seems to be wings waggling and/or position lights blinking... Edited July 2, 2019 by Tapi

They come in 3 colours with different meaning each and are more subtle than position lights. Edited July 2, 2019 by [N.O.G.F]Leon_Portier
Tapi Posted July 2, 2019 Author Posted July 2, 2019 (edited) Thx. Is there some convention about flare colors? I guess only red color = help me. Edited July 2, 2019 by Tapi
Leon_Portier Posted July 2, 2019 Posted July 2, 2019 @Tapi Your guess sounds pretty right. So far as I know: - Red: Follow me / help me - Green: I´m damaged and have to RTB - White: Lets RTB together / (if near a airport) We´re gonna land now! For the info, I only have this SimHQ thread, I think it was discussed on the forums here too but I cant find it right now. http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/3467110/what-flare-colours-mean-rfc
CountZero Posted July 2, 2019 Posted July 2, 2019 (edited) If i need to comunicate to frendly near me i just type in chat for examle "la5 in 0926 do this or that" or add hdg and alt info if more contacts there, so if hes paying atention on chat and wonts to comunicate he will see it. Usaly its info about enemy airplanes or warn frendly about 6, trying to coordinate something over chat is not good, voice coms are best for that. Edited July 2, 2019 by 77.CountZero
