Venturi Posted June 17, 2019 Posted June 17, 2019 The sky at altitude is far too light blue. Additionally the shadows become far stronger at altitude as the scattering properties of gas molecules become less (as the density drops). At 7.5km (Everest in background at 8.8km). If you see the sky behind him, above Everest, this is the color it should be when looking up, and darker as you go up farther still.
Gambit21 Posted June 17, 2019 Posted June 17, 2019 As someone else just recently mentioned, it's not possible for the Devs to simulate the entire universe, or physical characteristics. What you're experiencing in the sim isn't actually a real sky/atmosphere as it turns out, but a sky dome. Outer space and the actual characteristics of atmospheric gasses are not actually simulated. Thus changing the color of this dome depending on your particular attitude is problematic to say the least. Even if they could somehow manage this, what happens to the dome color when you're up high, and someone else is down low? Not saying this isn't possible with a different engine or sky type, but with a sky dome you'd have to find a way to change it's color dynamically, and just from your perspective. 1
Velxra Posted June 17, 2019 Posted June 17, 2019 Lowering gamma or using reshade is going to be your only options.

That is all there is, that we can adjust without overhauling the game engine itself. This is what I can achieve with Reshade Default with 1.1 gamma Reshade Edited June 17, 2019 by Geronimo553 1

It does change depending on altitude. There is a sea level color and a 10km color and the game interpolates between them. 1

I stand corrected. Edited June 17, 2019 by Gambit21
