Mine is saying failed to update I removed the radio folder and it still wont update plz help

You might have to bite the sour 4+ hour apple I bit.. Uninstalling and reinstalling, and not able to use your old \input\ folder.. But copy all of the game to a second drive first, so you can't blame my advice ;)

Posted

Old Inputs freezes the game (after painful reinstall) but if you redo them it works..painfully. as you can't invert axis in game, not even sure if it worked in the controls menu in settings.. But when all was done, It's a damn fine sim! ...and 1% extra this week too :D

Had the same problem, but no need to remap controls. I noticed that if you copy current.responses -file to input folder, game freezes. So copy all from your input backup folder except this current.responses -file, game starts fine   :)

Looking good guys, had my first flights in several weeks and the flight dynamics seem to be improved. I have much less of that rubber-band feeling around the centre of gravity now.

Rudder feels like it still has too much authority though.

Multiplayer was a lot of fun having some one on one on a quiet server with only 2-3 of us for an hour with out issue.

Got dropped to multiplayer server screen a few times on the busy full real US server with a ping of 178, and lost connection to master server once.

Overall though a great effort for this stage in development.

Thing im missing most now is trim controls.

Im off for some more fun!

I apology to all for my outburst.

My temper sometimes gets the best of me.

As it turned out we all got something this week, just as it should be.

Thank you team.

Thank you, Requiem. It was a relief to see how this your solution was so simple and fast... and now finally it is all OK.

The radio folder trick does indeed work for tons of people. If it doesn't than you should just delete the whole data folder. That is what I did. I also had the problem with a seemingly stopped or snail-pace download, I "fixed" that by selecting the 'web distribution preference' as recommended to me by Hooves.

If you are getting the failed to update message, go to:-

C:\Program Files (x86)\1C Game Studios\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data\Audio

Delete the Audio file

That appears to be the fix

Perhaps try deleting the 'radio' file in 'audio' first. Restart launcher. If that doesn't work, try deleting the whole 'audio' folder.

The radio sound in the QMB Missions is very quiet, not understandable.

In the normal Missons however its normal.

I can't seem to get anti-aliasing to work ingame  under any settings. I've messed around with my Nvidia settings too without success. I haven't seen this mentioned by anyone else yet so I'm wondering if it's just my system?

The QMB is great, really enjoyed this :joy:  Can we have more than 16 planes per skirmish please?.

Love the trains also

QMB Trial proved very good .Especially liked the over clouded weather with a thick cloud base .More realistic imho . Nice job. My Squaddies do not like motion blur as it would be relevant to fast camera movement but no ones eye balls :)

I finally shut off AA ingame completely and cranked up my Nvidia settings, definitely improving the appearance of my sim. It appears that AA is still a work in progress at this point in time.

On the upside QMB is a blast and the appearance of trains is most welcomed.

Hello BirdDog.  You can disable the motion blur by going into Settings/camera/uncheck box at bottom for Cinematic camera.

Anyone else find this?

I'm interested as I've found the in-game effect looks good. Might be a spec related thing perhaps. Mine is pretty low, so maybe I just don't notice it.

Did anyone  look into the Windows service and see that the "launcher" of IL2 is still running when you stop the game?! or is it only in my system?! :salute:

That's the way it works.

That's the way it works.

Maybe but if I want to launch/play again I must first stop it in the Windows services! Strange is it not?

No, because the launcher is still seeding. It's designed to keep running.

@Rjel

What did you do?

From what I can gather I think this is happening for some people after they have elected to close the launcher too.

While this isn't a troubleshooting thread, how are they closing it and what process is still running? I can close out the launcher when I alt-tab out after launching the game. No launcher process present, just the il-2.exe process.

I think some people have the process closing to systray and aren't realising its there.

What did you do?

I didn't do anything. Honest. It was someone else. ;)

But seriously, if you mean the AA issue I was having all I did was to turn that option off in the setting in BoS and crank up my driver settings in the Nvidia setup. I also have it set up to override any ingame settings.

I'd rather the launcher close itself when Bos started up like the old IL-2 Manager could be made to do. Something in the process is causing the game to hang for a lot of us. Not all the time but often enough to be troublesome.

It doesn't close, that's the point. It'd be pertinent to relay the correct steps and information to find out if the problem truly exists, or is being misreported.

I launch Il-2, launcher stays open after I close Il-2 and close the launcher. Otherwise I alt-tab to close the launcher while Il-2 is running. Either case, the launcher continues to run. Is that what is happening to you?

If the Il-2 launcher still stays open, check the LAUNCHER's settings - is the checkbox next to seed when downloaded checked? Uncheck it, launcher should close. Mine does. I can check and uncheck seed when downloaded and when checked, launcher remains open until I close it. Unchecked, launcher closes on its own.

I've done that too. It will still hang at times. The program will also hang at times, resulting in a need to alt-tab out of it and close it from Task Manager. It has happened since early access started. Sounds like it's happening to others too.

Well you're saying two different things.

You want it to close, but it's not supposed to close with seeding checked. If you want it to close, the uncheck seeding. If the latter is still causing an issue then report it, but the intent of seeding is to leave the launcher open all of the time so that the downloads are distributed.

No kidding? Maybe I wasn't clear. I have the seeding option turned off while I'm playing. Still have the issue. Thanks for the snarky answers. BTW, I do help the seeding when not playing.

I have nothing against seeding but what I am writing about is the fact that when I close the laucncher.exe and some hours later I want to launch it again, because there is no game avaible on my PC for the moment, the system give me a advise "this application is still running impossible to run it twice" or something like that so I cannot play the game before stopping the launcher in processes. This I find very annoying. :P

Are we going to be able to setup our own multiplayer "QMB" in the future? In my case, setting up a multiplayer server with very minimal realism? In other words play a multiplayer game with very basic amateur skills settings.

Thanks,

Best to all.

Quite the opposite, weirdly enough. Just a GTX 580 and I tried this but found the in-game AA was very noticeably better than cranking up the nvidia settings and overriding the in-game settings.

Gentelman (777) Thanks for the game, I really enjoyed playing the simulator. (excellent, outstanding)

There was no snark, those were clear cut responses.

The Please wait bug is really prvalent today, it happens nearly everytime if you try to spawn in at the same time as another person.  First it will give you a "Error conditions at the airfield have changed" then the next time you try to spawn you get the Please wait bug, wher ethe cursor goes to teh spinning wheel of death and you just sit in the map.  You have to quit the game via Alt f4 as you cant access the menu, and then I tried to rejoin the server (EU expert)  and I got the same bug three time sin a row without getting the initial error of the airfield conditions being changed.  This is IMHO is a big showstopper.

It happened a lot to me yesterday - it acted a little like auto balance, me and some squaddies couldn't join on the German side (which had more players I think - hard to say without stats) but would easily get in on the Russian team.

ah you know, come to think of it, the server was near or at capacity when this happened.

Will the Mecs be available as Fieldmod or in the basic Update Pack "MECOS" (mecs of Stalingrad)?

Great Update!
