spudkopf Posted June 14, 2019 Posted June 14, 2019 (edited) Well due popular demand..... I set up my PC today (post move) and then downloaded the update, extracted all the official skins for the Schwalbe and historically corrected them. Spoiler Due to the faux Haken not being particularly symmetric it took a little more effort to blend in the replacements, but hopefully I was able to pull it off properly, so use the follow links to come get them. me262a.dds me262a_skin_01.dds me262a_skin_02.dds me262a_skin_03.dds me262a_skin_04.dds me262a_skin_05.dds me262a_skin_06.dds me262a_skin_07.dds me262a_skin_08.dds (Alpha Chanel Fixed 05/07/22) me262a_skin_09.dds me262a_skin_10.dds Default = \IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data\graphics\Planes\target folder\Textures\?????.dds Others = \IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data\graphics\skins\target folder\?????_skin_*.dds Target folder = Me262A Make sure mods is checked and as usual any problems just let me know. Enjoy Edited July 6, 2022 by spudkopf 5 14 2
SR603-Flowbee Posted June 14, 2019 Posted June 14, 2019 (edited) That is brilliant! Thank you. I have spent the last 48 hours trying to open these .dds files with every paint program and every utility on the web that I could find and got nothing but error messages. I have never had a problem doing this before. What method did you use to access these files? I managed to open yours without any problem using Photoshop as usual. Edited June 14, 2019 by Flowbee_603

I use Photoshop with the nvidia plug-in istalled from the following link: https://developer.nvidia.com/nvidia-texture-tools-adobe-photoshop Despite what the page says, works fine with CC as well, 1

=TBAS=Sshadow14 Posted June 14, 2019 Posted June 14, 2019 so it also includes a 4K normal map? great work
Mungee Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 I've installed these Me 262 default skins (historically-correct) in the JSGME 'MODS' folder (by adding them to the already existing "4K Default Skin Replacement for BoBP" folder - by adding "Me262A" and "Textures" folders- and I still get the original default skins (historically-incorrect). The "me262a.dds" skin shows the historically-correct skin, but the other 10 do not! I must be doing something wrong!! Can anyone see what it is that I'm doing wrong - see screenshot of what I've done (below), Many thanks.
Yankee_One Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Hi, put the other 10 skins into the skins folder data\graphics\skins\Me262A

Frenchy56 Posted July 3, 2022 Posted July 3, 2022 Looking at the swastika on the bare metal skin, it seems like the center (where it was originally censored) still shines like metal. Is there anything you can do?

Is there anything you can do? I'll take a look, my guess is that it's an Alpha layer based issue, that's something I'd not considered looking at when I did the skin but it is the kind of thing that related to bare metal skins. Cheers Edited July 5, 2022 by spudkopf
