Thank you for this, was the only thing that was missing. One thing, I notice the AI fighters are not very I can seemingly take on 4 or 5 at a time and they never get a shot off, I am not a skilled pilot at all so it seemed strange. This was using the older version did game updates break the AI?

Sandmarken Posted May 17, 2020 Posted May 17, 2020 Very impressive how you made a greek campain in the kuban map. Iv visited the island once and I cant say it looks too different from what i remember? I wish someone woud do the same for an Africa campain, i tried to make a misson myself but the editor is greek to me??
FurphyForum Posted May 27, 2020 Posted May 27, 2020 @Jaegermeister Would it be possible to add a historical correct (with Hakekreuz) skin of the Bf 109G-4 of JG 27 also? Thanks.

Yes, it's possible. I looked and can't find the template I made it on. If you want a historically correct skin, you can make a new one and replace the one included in the Bf109G4 folder with the same name. Then it will show up in the campaign. Bf109G4_JG27 All I did was use camo layers from the template and add a JG 27 cowl badge. I may have put some additional green on the fuselage too. It wasn't very complicated though.
Nadelbaum Posted June 2, 2020 Posted June 2, 2020 Just finished this excellent campaign, many thanks for creating it! I'm really looking forward to the Lightning Strikes and other campaigns that you have created. I liked the missions a lot, not only because the Kuban map is beautiful, but for the amount of action and the back story. I'm in the process of going through all the planes in the series and this campaign was a great way to fly MC202. The only comment I have is with regards to the RRR (I'm sure someone mentioned it being implemented...). There was a couple of missions where I planned on using RRR and then getting back to the action, but as soon as I landed the mission ended automatically. Maybe this was due to the fact that I came into a complete stop with the plane? Or maybe I just misunderstood the possibility to use RRR? In any case this didn't ruin the wonderful experience.

Apparently you do misunderstand. I’m glad it didn’t ruin the experience since it’s not a part of it. RRR is a feature that can be implemented by mission designers and on servers. It did not exist when I wrote this campaign. In order to have that feature there would have to be a designated area and object set up and enabled to do the RRR. Then there would have to be additional objectives created after a second takeoff. With the current mission design, if you did take off again, there would be nothing there. The major flaw for using RRR in a scripted campaign is that you would be flying alone. Wingmen will not take off again and they will despawn after they land. If additional aircraft are spawned to take off with the player, they will not be in the same flight. There is no way around that at the moment. Events in a scripted campaign don’t happen randomly, hence “scripted”. I have done a couple of missions with RRR in them, but they are in very specific situations and it’s more of a novelty than anything else. 1

That definitely explains, thanks for the quick answer! I've been downloading quite a few scripted campaigns in the past month or so and gone through the many threads related so it is not a surprise that I've mixed things up ?
screamingdemon Posted June 5, 2020 Posted June 5, 2020 Hi Jaegermeister I have just started to play this campaign and fortunate enough to also enjoy it with the English voices update (FYI: South African accent is different from the British accent. Furthermore, within the South African English accent you would have 2 distinct accents at that time i.e the English accent from those with British heritage and English accent from those with Dutch heritage - and I do believe both types server in the Kos campaign) You may be interested to know that my good friend and neighbor is currently working on a book about his father's life in the SAAF and it will also cover the period his father served in the Kos campaign. So this really makes the experience more interesting for me. Here is a link to his website http://justinswtaylor.com/ Keep up the good work

I know it’s different, but it’s the best we have in game. They were flying for the British Commonwealth so we just have to make do I guess. There is very little published information about that episode. There is a South African book about the SAAF in service in WWII, but I could not find a copy for a reasonable price. frosen Posted July 2, 2020 Posted July 2, 2020 (edited) Hi Jaegermeister! Thanks for a great campaign so far (I just completed mission #9). One comment though, as somebody wrote here before, the enemy AI skills are extremely poor. They basically just fly straight ahead in formation and never get a shot off. I think there were some mission, (maybe 3rd or 4th) were one AI was kind of OK and chased me a bit but otherwise it's basically a veritable turkey shoot ? Maybe you can have a look at the enemy AI? Thanks for an otherwise great campaign, I really like what you did with a little creativity! Edited July 3, 2020 by frosen spelling...

frosen Posted July 3, 2020 Posted July 3, 2020 An update now when I'm at mission 14. The enemy don't return fire when I first engage them but rather stays in formation like a said before. Then after a while, I'm unsure if it's time dependent or dependent on distance from something but suddenly they start shooting and become lethal... really strange.
justin_z3r0 Posted November 15, 2020 Posted November 15, 2020 just finished 3rd mission. I like it!. One question though - it seems the flight lead flys very slow. Only ~160mph. The map / briefing say 240-260mph though. Is there a unit issue going on or something? KPH instead of MPH maybe? Thanks for the campaign!

They fixed the AI following assigned speeds a while back and I probably have slower speeds assigned to some of the waypoints that made no difference before. There is no error in the units, they are supposed to cruise at 240 mph. I may get a chance to update it, I’m not sure. I don’t have much spare time these days... 1

Jaegermeister Posted December 30, 2020 Author Posted December 30, 2020 Glad your liking it... I'm about 2/3 of the way through updating it to 4.505 specs. Yves Posted August 16, 2021 Posted August 16, 2021 Hello Everytime I try to start the first mission I just get a real short "loading" screen and then I get kicked back to the Mission selection screen (screenshot below )....no error is telling me what the issue is. I've tried offline mode too.....does anyone know how I can fix this? Or is this just because the campaign is not on the same version as the game? Would be glad for help. Hi, I everyti
E69_julian57 Posted August 16, 2021 Posted August 16, 2021 Hello, @Yves I think it's because of the latest update, as you say.
Virus* Posted August 24, 2021 Posted August 24, 2021 Having the same issue here...any workaround on how to solve it? Thanks
Nadelbaum Posted August 24, 2021 Posted August 24, 2021 Search the forum for resaving missions. It is done through the Mission Editor (separate binary in your installation).
Gedm Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 I've got a bad habit of saving this stuff. Missions and Campaigns wont start after updates: You need to resave all missions/campaigns that are from 3rd parties. Just open the ME and choose: TOOLS/Resave all missions in folder, point to folder where your missions or campaign are and go lunch. Or delete all "msnbin" files in mission and campaign folders.
jollyjack Posted August 26, 2021 Posted August 26, 2021 (edited) Re-downloaded Greek Fire, indeed had to do a re-save. Also some missions i found i had to reinstall the game v4.603b fresh as just a few wouldn't load, after that they did. I think it was in my case due used mods not uninstalled properly before the update. Edited August 26, 2021 by jollyjack
Jaegermeister Posted August 27, 2021 Author Posted August 27, 2021 (edited) I have posted an updated file for game version 4.603. Yves Posted April 12, 2023 Posted April 12, 2023 Hi Is this campaign broken? i deleted the folder and added the new campaign - first try it wouldnt show up at all. Next try i only copied the fgolder "greek fire" in the campaigns folder, this time it showed up: But when starting there is no missions description, and when clicking "start" nothing happened.
