SOLIDKREATE Posted June 7, 2019 Posted June 7, 2019 (edited) No.453 Sqn "Ready to Strike" January 1945 This is my 5 plane skin pack for this unit. I also made the emblem above too. All markings and camo were hand painted. No one Spit is alike. They are all unique. This unit was a ground strike unit that fought during Bodenplatte. Please enjoy killing sausage with these birds. Poochnboo Posted June 8, 2019 Posted June 8, 2019 I love the idea of going after German targets with a big "F-U" on the side of my airplane! Just says it all! 4
SOLIDKREATE Posted June 23, 2019 Author Posted June 23, 2019 (edited) Sorry gents I have been struggling to get my game updated. But alas I did and I will resume skinning soon. I need to finish out this squadron and then do the rest of the 340th Sqn (French). Edited June 23, 2019 by 325TH_SPEKTRE76 1
Talon_ Posted June 28, 2019 Posted June 28, 2019 Just FYI the upper wing surface roundel is not accurate for time period. It should be Type B before January 3rd 1945.
SOLIDKREATE Posted June 30, 2019 Author Posted June 30, 2019 This was the only MkIX that I could find.

AFAIK they were flying Mk.IXBs until May 45 and then switched to Mk.XIVs. I hope my scans are somewhat helpful. Here is some 401 sqn Spitfire galore from the following publications: - Nijboer, Donald. No 126 Wing RCAF (Aviation Elite Units) . Osprey Publishing Ltd. - Chapis, Stephen; Thomas, Andrew. Allied Jet Killers of World War 2 (Aircraft of the Aces) Bloomsbury Publishing. 1
