Minor issue. Can't get the cockpit map to open up and I can't find anything except initial size and transparency of the full map when I look at the settings. Key binding in Service tap says "M" changes the map mode, but it just ain't happening. Is there a quick fix or did I break something... again.

Thanks, but that's not the map I was looking for. O opens the mission briefing. I'm looking for the in-flight map. It opens as a mini or as a full screen version so you can spot landmarks and navigate your way home.

Maybe I'm asking the wrong question.

Is there a map of the area that I can view when I am in the cockpit flying the aircraft, and if so what is the key binding to open it? There was before I just DL the latest upgrade and now I can't open it.

"M" is not working, "O" is the mission map and briefing, "tab" got me the stats page for the mission I am flying.

The one right of the the N-key, what is “M” on qwerty but but “,” (comma) on azerty keyboard?

Games usually go for qwerty.

Eventually you may change the key binding in the game settings.

I hope I'm just getting joked with now. @Westdid you not read the two times I wrote that "M" (the one to the right of the "N" key) is not opening the map even though that's the mapped key for it.

okay just checked mine in game i pressed O then while lobby was open pressed M then O again and when map closed there was the mini map then rest of the time could use M key to change map sizes or make it disappear , 4 settings i think. if still not visible look in your flight interface settings that you have everything set right there. hope this helps

Finally have found some settings that work. The underlying issue was the difficulty settings and not what keys I was hitting. I expected selecting "normal" or "expert" would set everything I needed. Apparently neither setting was useful in this case.

Thanks for trying to help.

Now does anyone know where the game files are so I can back up my cockpit views and find screen shots?

For the cockpit views the path is: C:\Program Files (x86)\1C Game Studios\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data\LuaScripts\snapviews

At least that's on my computer and yours may vary based on where you have the game installed to.
