Nankeen Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Hey Loft and Zak, not to worry about the MP, its all cool, cool here. Thank you very much for the Yak, looking forward to flying this baby out
IIN8II Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 appreciate the consideration put into this decision, as well as the yak
Wandalen Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Guys, Sorry about the no MP release today. Big disappointment for all of us involved, but the bugs we encountered at the last minute. Jason Dont be Sorry m8, nobody wants a buggy multiplayer ;-) The yak was a nice suprise , thanks! ~S~
Wolfstriked Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Are we all playing the same game and anyone else have an extreme case of the wobbles? When you get damaged your plane starts wobbling erratically and this is what I have most of the time.I posted before about it and how the ball would suddenly fly off to the full right and then back again. In external view and watching the plane it looks as if pilot is dancing on the controls but my controls are solid.I turn off wind and its still present so its more like the damage effect stuck on permanently to which I must ask is this crazy behavior realistic if you damage your engine? Just now I entered a mission and the AI was flying perfect with controls moving just a tiny amount and I take control and notice a smooth and wonderful feel of flight.Start attacking some targets and suddenly the damage effect kicks in and then I wanna throw my joystick out the window again. Funny thing is when I press auto pilot the AI's controls were going crazy as crazy as I feel! Am I alone here?
II/JG17KaC_Wolfe Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Getting crash to desktop and freezes when trying the Yak - other planes work fine as usual. Windows 7 latest Nvidia driver GTX 670 graphics. corsair memory. Hopefully a minor bug.
Finkeren Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Wolfstriked: Check if you have deadzones set for your joystick. If you have, delete them.

I noticed that as well, in the one dogfight mission I was flying before I got my usual CTD I got damaged by the flak, and my plane ( Yak 1)started wobbling like crazy... Lusekofte Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Well I was not waiting for the multiplayer, since I think it is to early. I want PE-2 to play with there. I rather have QMB and FMB to play with the plane we got. But I am sure you are doing the right dessissions . thx for the yak
Wolfstriked Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Its not my controls at all because when I look down in cockpit my virtual controls move perfectly in sync with my inputs.Just now I got in the Yak and it was rock solid again.Start fighting some planes and suddenly it reverts back to the damaged plane effects.I turn AI back on and he also can't control the plane judging from how every control, from trim to throttle,is jittering like crazy.
Averbex Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 No problem Thanks for the Yak1 - see you on the MP in a week or two. Just picked early access up yesterday and feel right at home already. Keep up the hard work. 1
9./JG52Ziegler Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Anybody having problems with the update? Mine downloaded fine but the game will not launch. I get the loading screen (red) then a dark blank nothing screen that just seems to hang there. I have to start the task Mgr to get out?
SOLIDKREATE Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Yak-1 looks, sounds and performs amazing! I love the gun sounds! Now I'm just waiting for my Fw-190A-3 and the La-5. Pe-2-205 and the Bf-110F-1 are my next wish list items.
=LD=Rulo Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 What else can I add for the good opinions? Just nothing, the plane is great, the guns work and they are a good fighter against the 109. I did find a bug. After getting hit (enging was leaking oil, I think I got hit) my instruments went black, no arrows, no number, no nothing, just black. Cheers Rulo
Stray Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 (edited) The update is available. When I run the launcher, it says update is not available. Anyone suffering from the same issue? Edited March 14, 2014 by 9./JG54_Stray
senseispcc Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 The Yak-1 is a great addition to the game and does maybe equilibrate the odds how are in favour of the German side. The Yak is a beautiful plane nice to fly very nervous like a pure race horse. This could be your last sight of the plane if you are on the wrong side of his guns!
Rama Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 When I run the launcher, it says update is not available. Anyone suffering from the same issue? That's the old launcher. You should uninstall it and install the new one.
senseispcc Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 When I run the launcher, it says update is not available. Anyone suffering from the same issue? You should uninstall the game then download the full game again from your acount.
Caudron431 Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Today's update is fantastic: the Yak1 is a nervous ride with a lot of character. In the same time it is so smooth, wow! I love it, for me today is the best update so far. So 1CGS guys: don't worry, you rock the sim world!
pilotpierre Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 2 excellent decisions guys, you are going to be winners for sure
II/JG17_HerrMurf Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Probably for the best anyways, I doubt many were looking forwards to flying the LaGG-3 vs Bf-109F in the first MP engagements. Except all us 109 drivers
feuervogel Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 (edited) Yeah, the Yak-1 is a good substitution for this weekend and a nice plane to fly and fight, managed to shoot down two 109's in first dogfight test very quickly ... It is very sensitive to fly, little nose heavy, always have to hold stick tight to go straight forward. I wondered why it tends to turn to the right. In outside view I detected different elevator angles when pushing stick. Just a little bug, you told it's not final ... Keep it up!!! DougW Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Thank you for the information, you guys are doing a great job - thanks again
Roast Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 Shot down a Bf109 in a turn fight on my first try Aah, that's the spirit !
=RkSq=Lodebeard Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 I'd prefer to wait for a functional multipayer. My friends and I have been salivating over flying together again for over a year now, since this project began. It would be terribly disappointing if our first experience of BoS together were to be a big mess of connection problems and unfinished netcode. You guys made the right decision, I think, and the Yakovlev is a lovely consolation for us ~S~ 1
6BLBird-Dog Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 Downloaded and tested with no more crashes !!!! Turns out my PCI-E 1 SLOT was iffy on the motherboard so it was RMA & replaced FOC .Running fine in Ultra now . Thanks
SOLIDKREATE Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 When I run the launcher, it says update is not available. Anyone suffering from the same issue? I don't even get that screen. It just goes straight to the game.

Hopefully a minor bug. me too. lots of crash to desktop
tempered Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 Flew the new yak and it seems okay. Game is stuttery and crashes frequently. I am also having the problem with the launcher not always terminating properly. Have to close it from the task manager. Smoke seems to be a huge resource hog.
AX2 Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 (edited) me too. lots of crash to desktop I never had a problem with the BOS installer . Only get a one o two crash to desktop in previous versions and I have an 2 - 3 years old PC Maybe you need download the the latest drivers for sound card, video card and motherboard drivers. Maybe you can solve many problems, if you do this __________________________________ About to the YAK 1. I have only complaint about to the Flight Model . YAK 1 It is a light plane , should be have a greater tendency to raise the nose up in flight. But Is too stable up to 400 km/h. The 109 is heavier plane, with less wing area than the YAK 1. But BF 109 have much stronger tendency to raise the nose up in flight, at 300km/h than the Yak 1 at 400 kms/h. Should be the opposite FM, BF 109 vs Yak 1.. undoubtedly. I expect the developers have set up the trim for each plane at a particular power/RPM/speed state. Fly out side those parameters and you'd need to apply stick pressure. Should be resolved when trim is implemented. Cheers!
AX2 Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 (edited) Should be resolved when trim is implemented. My English is bad, apologies, I think you can not understand me. I will do my best The Yak 1 is a light plane , and have more wing surface area than the 109, the BF 109 is heavier plane compared to the Yak 1. For now the Yak 1 don´t have trims, but his nose stays down in flight. up to 400 kms/H, It is not a problem in trim. But the nose of the 109 goes up, pushing the BF 109 nose very hard up only at 300km/h, with trim settings = zero. For a heavy aircraft , with small wing area , compared with the Yak 1,that's wrong., For the YAK 1 and the BF 109 FM. Edited March 15, 2014 by Mustang
Thrasher Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 As long as you keep working on the game and demonstrating your true passion for it I don't care how long it takes for you to complete it and perfect it! I paid my 95 dollars for a reason and that reason is I want this game to succeed as much as you do! Drive on friends drive on!
Thrasher Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 For those that don't know anything about WW2 aviation history... (which is very few here but I just feel like spouting off at the mouth) In real life WW2 the Germans outperformed the Russians in the air not because of the quality of their planes, but the quality of the training the average Russian pilot received. The Russian government at the time was more concerned with getting as many pilots in the air as possible as quickly as possible than the quality of their training. Their flying machines were on par with their enemies, but their training was not. It was a cruel strategy for their own side, but an effective one. It also explains how German aces managed to wrack up 200 kills against pilots in similarly performing machines.... 1

For a heavy aircraft , with small wing area , compared with the Yak 1,that's wrong., For the YAK 1 and the BF 109 FM. I have to disagree. The tendency to raise the nose in level flight at certain airspeeds is called "tail heavyness" and has absolutely nothing to do with the aircrafts weight and wing area and everything to do with how the aerodynamics are balanced on that plane. Also keep in mind, that even though the Yak is a lighter aircraft than the Bf 109 and has a slightly larger wing area, that doesn't automatically mean, that the Yak should climb better than the 109, a lot of other factors are in play such as engine power, aerodynamic efficiency and wing profile. In fact the Bf 109 was a better climber than any VVS aircraft in 1942. 5
GiConti Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 no muliplayer but you give a new plane to fly as consolation.. How can anyone complain, I think its great. 1 extra week for for mp isn't a long. I'm sure people will enjoy the new plane
