I./JG68_Sperber Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Please keep as note - Bf109 now have limited time of overload engine run - 1 minute on 2700 and 5 minutes on 2500. If yuo will maintain longer - engine damage becomes possible. Il2 and Ju87 are also have their overload limitations. Lagg3 have no overload mode. Also, you may to turn on Auto-RPM-limiter in difficulty settings to keep these timings automaticaly. I dont find Auto-RPM-limiter in difficulty settings !?
I./JG68_Sperber Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 ok thx throttle auto-limit = Auto-RPM-limiter
arjisme Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 How does the overload limit work during a mission? Is it cumulative time at overload or does it reset the timer (so to speak) when you lower RPM to a safe range? I have not been able to fly much, so haven't been able to experiment for myself.
Volkoff Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 (edited) Thanks to the devs and testers for the update. Today, I am going to spend my Il2 BOS time joyriding through the clouds. MJ Edited March 8, 2014 by =69.GIAP=MIKHA

Will the LaGG-3 have an overload mode in the future or is it ok to continuously run the engine with a manifold pressure of 1050 mmHg and 2550 RPMs to 2700 RPMs? If it will have an overload mode in the future, could we have the overload mode constraints listed? Thank you. MJ Edited March 8, 2014 by =69.GIAP=MIKHA

Not sure about 1,42 Ata 2700 RPMs - if it should be 1 minutes or 3 minutes. Edited March 8, 2014 by Kwiatek 3
[JG2]Fenderalac Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Flying anything other than 109 is a pain in the ass. Thank god that 109 has vertical stabs implemented.;
bigd0311 Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Flying anything other than 109 is a pain in the ass. Thank god that 109 has vertical stabs implemented.; Actually, I'm having a problem with the elevator trim on the 109. I have it mapped and it shows input, but it has no effect on the aircraft. Does anyone else have this issue or is it just me?

dburne Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Flying anything other than 109 is a pain in the ass. Thank god that 109 has vertical stabs implemented.; Tell me about it, I have only been flying the Russian planes, namely the Lagg! With a Warthog at that!
Matt Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Well, if you use a Warthog script, this will give you trim for aileron and elevator on the trim hat (i guess you could also use it for the rudder instead of ailerons, just check what DX axis your rudder axis is and replace the DX_X_AXIS with it): MapKey(&Joystick, H1U, REXEC(0, 100,"TrimDXAxis(DX_Y_AXIS, -20);")); MapKey(&Joystick, H1D, REXEC(0, 100,"TrimDXAxis(DX_Y_AXIS, 20);")); MapKey(&Joystick, H1L, REXEC(0, 100,"TrimDXAxis(DX_X_AXIS, -20);")); MapKey(&Joystick, H1R, REXEC(0, 100,"TrimDXAxis(DX_X_AXIS, 20);")); If you want a command to reset the trim, use this MapKey(&Joystick, INSERTKEYHERE, EXEC("TrimDXAxis(DX_Y_AXIS, SET(0));")); MapKey(&Joystick, INSERTKEYHERE, EXEC("TrimDXAxis(DX_X_AXIS, SET(0));")); Sorry for off-topic. How does the overload limit work during a mission? Is it cumulative time at overload or does it reset the timer (so to speak) when you lower RPM to a safe range? It works more as a timer, based on my experience so far. You can go full power for a minute or so for many times during a mission, as long as you take a break and fly at low RPM in between. The automatic throttle limit also seems to function that way, throttling down to save limits and then throttling back up.

I was reading about that in the Target Script Editor manual and kind of got a little befazzled, I decided to just wait till they could get trim implemented. I will give the above a try - thank you very much!
ph1317 Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 One small comment about the bf-109 mission where 2 bf109s escort Stukas: briefing says you take off, then take altitude and wait above the air field while Stukas take off later. I don't know if this mission has worked this way before, but now it has air start for bf-109s.
AX2 Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 (edited) I don't see any performance hit with the clouds , It is an incredible achievement. Great ! The clouds look amazing Great Work Guys ! I will love the clouds . But the Stalingrad smoke at low level fly ( low or balanced settings ) Kill my old PC , more than sky full of clouds. sallee Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 I use the flyby view several times in the course of a mission, and have not noticed this... Any chance you have a key conflict with your accelerate time and fly by view? Doesn't look like it, dburnette. It only happens once!

Han 5 minutes is not the limit ! I got bored flying 1.3 ata But I have a doubt 2700 RPMs Ata 1.42 - 1 minute allowed = no engine damage That means you can rest the engine and use again 2700 RPMs 1.42 For now 2700 RPMs 1.42 ATA, is a single shot per flight. Nankeen Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 The clouds give this simulator so much more depth. I think this sim is a real work of art on all fronts, besides the pilots, it just needs an art gallery or lounge room wall The Yak-1 was a real surprise does that model had more polygons around the spinner nose cone than the Lagg-3 ? I too was also wondering if the Lagg3 would over heat with constant high RPMs ? (MJ's question) All in all, this update was quite the surprise Regards, Boomerang

Thank you so much for this, flying the Lagg has become so much better for me now! Any my arm and wrist are very appreciative as well!
VBF-12_Gosling-71 Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Hmmm... Sorry I'm late but just got home from holiday..... Sunday 1800GMT "Failed to update" Have the servers gone off already, please? If so, no worries I'll look forward to the Multiplayer next week. Gos
AldoUSMC Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 I was just on flying so...no..they are still online. Regards AldoUSMC 1
LLv34_Flanker Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 S! Thanks for the update. Hectic RL has kept me away. Looks good, performance good as well. Still, get rid of that SSAO! :D Also, updated LagG-3 Series 35 thread with pics. Enjoy.

UncleHajo Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 109 langing gear less fragile, thank you! Enjoyed the new cloud modeling, too.

=38=Tatarenko Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Fantastic!! Any chance we can put our own numbers on it? 1
ST_ami7b5 Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 I'm affraid there is no chance. It would mean quite different approach to skins. Would be glad to be wrong anyhow
Rodolphe Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 (edited) ... Screens with the unique gift skin for IL-2 designed for the very first Founders Congrats to the very fırst Founder [premium] / Товарищи [прем.] but may İ ask : Who is that ? csThor / SteelEggs ??? ... ST_ami7b5 Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 We would need unmarked skins with decal overlays (like the original IL-2 / 1946 has) The developers have said there is a possibility they might develop a similar system. Fingers crossed! Would be cool! 1

Picchio Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 (edited) Unless they're going to perform another one, I'm afraid there was a mistake in writing the time... I've watched its last ten minutes at local 17:50 (GMT 16:50), on the Russian channel. Edited March 12, 2014 by Picchio
Picchio Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Nevermind what I said, they're doing another one! Live now! YAY!
Picchio Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 (edited) New weather technology will probably be shown this month or during april. I'm happy. And that Yak-1 is so beautiful. Edited March 12, 2014 by Picchio
ShamrockOneFive Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Thanks for the live stream folks! Was great to see the Yak-1 in the game and I look forward to flying it in the virtual skies before too long!
LLv24_Zami Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Nice stream, Yak and Pe2 looks really cool. And that QMB looks great too, hopefully we get it soon!
