AndyJWest Posted April 16, 2019 Posted April 16, 2019 20 years? I thought the original was released in 2001? Pretty good either way. Not that many games still being actively developed after all that time.
ST_ami7b5 Posted April 16, 2019 Posted April 16, 2019 These days I fly more and more 1946, which is... well... somehow strange.
Trooper117 Posted April 16, 2019 Posted April 16, 2019 You are keeping the old girl alive mate... nothing strange about that! I still have a dabble from time to time. it's like coming back to an old familiar friend 3
Dogbert1953 Posted April 17, 2019 Posted April 17, 2019 I run 1946 BAT all the time, i hardly ever play Great Battles. Too much missing for me, i love big bombers and lots of them. Mike. 1
JonRedcorn Posted April 17, 2019 Posted April 17, 2019 I love the game, the only thing I do not like about it is how fast the AI flies, and how hard it is to get speed up in planes, it's like unless you are perfectly trimmed out you are forever stuck under 400kph.
Rei-sen Posted April 18, 2019 Posted April 18, 2019 (edited) Hmm, I actually don't have a problem with maintaining high speed and catching up with the enemy if my aircraft is at least close performance wise. I have a different problem with the AI though? with it's sniper gunnery skills when you are evading it's boom-zoom attacks. And it's ability to pull unrealistic high speed maneuvers. I'm using simplified engine management though so that might be a reason, the complex one I use only in BoX series. @JonRedcorn are you using CEM in 1946? Edited April 18, 2019 by Arthur-A

It's really evident in turns I'll be in formation and the AI does a hard break I have 0 chance of keeping up. I was doing a fw190 a3 campaign came up against some la5s and they just ran a riot on us. Out climbed out turned out everything. Very difficult.
