Blitzen Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 Last Monday we got the new FW-190 D and I was in love.It was superb. I had to go out of country for a week & now what do I find upon my return to the game...a plane prone to high speed stalls, a sudden engine stoppage. It seems to behave more like the P-40 than the Uber Jaeger it was before I left.Even with “boost” or because of it I find myself falling out of the sky with a dead engine. This is not acceptable. I’m sure this has probably been addressed elsewhere by other disappointed Long Noser hosers...was gibt ?
RedKestrel Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 There was a small hotfix that corrected issues with the FW190A variants overheating due to cooling gills not working properly. They also say they fixed the issue wtih the 190D not being fast enough on Winter maps. No changes to flight model were mentioned. This was a few days ago, I haven't seen anyone else talking about FM changes. Check the 3.0012 update thread, there was a 3.0012B hotfix released.
Blitzen Posted April 3, 2019 Author Posted April 3, 2019 (edited) I may have to have a heart to heart with one of my "Black Men" mechanics , because my Long Nose performance is definitely sub-standard, & use threats of sending him to the Eastern Fr...oh wait a moment ...we're already there! Hmmmmm...[edited] Edited April 3, 2019 by SYN_Haashashin No need by you of adding that...
StaB/Tomio_VR*** Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 i think he tried a Ta-152C previous week, this is why^^
RedKestrel Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 As far as the killed engine goes, maybe boost isnt activating properly, and your throttle settings are killing the engine in the absence of MW50? Not sure about the stalls though.
Psyrion Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 I suspect this is a case of pilot error. My Dora works just fine, better even :D.
danielprates Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 Soon after release there was indeed a tweak, but in my perception at least, the speed stalls remain the same. In such a nimble high-speed plane like this, it should be easy to stall anyway.

ROCKET_KNUT Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 (edited) Nothing special to report about the D-9... If the pilot misses his target, pretty much nothing happens... Just like when I hit my target If the D-9 is on fire, it burns quite normally... If the pilot is dead, he won´t make it back to base for diner... And if his Dora looses a wing, the canopy will come off... Greetings to all of you! Edited April 3, 2019 by =RR=ROCKET_KNUT 2

Blitzen Posted April 4, 2019 Author Posted April 4, 2019 Checked files through Steam & found some in need of repair...with that done the Dora came back as a perfectly good flyable killing machine... So technical glitch after all but believe me it was a mess while it lasted! 2

Its really weird that files in need of repair just tweaked the performance of one plane, and didn't SNAFU your entire install. Still, glad you got it worked out. 1
Blitzen Posted April 4, 2019 Author Posted April 4, 2019 (edited) Totally agree...but as long as I’ have the Uber fighter up & running who am I to complain? Honestly its prior behavior was so bad that it reminded me of the abysmal performance of the 190A when BoS was initially released. Way back then that 190 was for me & others virtually un-flyable. I freely admit that many of the little problems i've had ( and inquired about here on various postings,) have probably been self inflicted. It may not have been temporary file issue at all but just that i needed to re-boot for everything to jell with the Dora. I am just happy something beyond my ken did work!? Edited April 4, 2019 by Blitzen
Cpt_Cool Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 @=RR=ROCKET_KNUT Red rocket eh? I have to respectfully ask if the double meaning is intentional. Especially if the "k" in "knut" is silent haha ?
Blitzen Posted April 4, 2019 Author Posted April 4, 2019 (edited) Oh yes an amazing experience when using the 24 rocket option.I must have gauged the range just about right because the il-2 I was aiming at simply disappeared in the resultant hit(s) Edited April 4, 2019 by Blitzen missplelling

Especially if the "k" in "knut" is silent haha ? Sorry for OT @Cpt_Cool No problem Captain! The double meaning is completely unintentional. Back then, when I chose my nickname, I simply didn´t know, what meanings the word "nut" also can have... I loooove the english language and consider myself as not too bad at it, but a short look at the urban dictionary simply left me amazed… So, from what I found in the ud, I choose this one here: Knut: The name Knut means cool, handsome and sexy. Many girls will have sex with Knut because he's so sexy. Everyone loves Knut because he's the coolest person that exists. He is much cooler than other people, he is good in everything. It was he who killed Hitler and Osama Bin Laden. How do they manage to know so much about me??? So, to sum it up: Not intended, but I´m cool with being called “Rocket Knut” with a silent “K”. And sorry again for OT. 2
