charlietodd Posted March 19, 2019 Posted March 19, 2019 How’s it going, i just bought the Base game through steam, and was going to purchase the rest of the series here. I will be playing MP almost always, but I’m having a problem finding info on the servers and what maps, etc. that is mostly used in MP servers. I’m US, in CMT time zone. Thanks

Thanks Most servers have a rotation of the various maps. Luckily, with multiplayer, as long as you have the base game you can fly on any of the available maps online. So if you have Battle of Stalingrad (base game on Steam) then you can fly over the Moscow, Stalingrad and Kuban maps online. You won't have access to them in single-player mode though. With Battle of Stalingrad, on most online scenarios you should have some planes available to you as they are mid-war planes that were present both earlier and later. If I had to guess, I would say that most servers have more missions in the mid-to-late war plane-sets (Stalingrad and Kuban) , as they seem more popular with players. Plus late scenarios are becoming more popular because its easier to put in the early access planes from Battle of Bodenplatte. That being said, so far Battle of Moscow is my favourite plane-set - the I-16 and the MiG-3 are just a lot of fun to fly. If you want to know more about the multiplayer servers, check out some of the threads over in Multiplayer Servers and Hosting subforum. most of the persistent long-running servers have a stickied thread with information on how the server runs, map and plane rotations, etc.

First of all, welcome! To touch a little further on what RedKestrel said here, you will be able to fly all the maps online, but the only planes available to you will be the ones in the modules that you have purchased. Honestly, with the sale (ending today 3/20) its worth it just to get them all. Hope to see you online soon!
Sketch Posted March 20, 2019 Posted March 20, 2019 I highly, highly recommend you read this blog by @ShamrockOneFive. He breaks down each available module so that you can make an informed decision. 1

Thanks So you got Battle of Stalingrad already, that one alone is good start for MP as airplanes you have there youll have on most servers online ( you dont have to have Moscow or Kuban maps to play on them online, you just have to have airplane avialable on that mission). Then i would just buy Battle of Bodenplatte while its still in early acces. But now you have big sale so you can also get standard BoM for 17$ or even standard BoK for 34$. Also when you buy from this web store, you can still play on steam. Then later when collector airplanes get on sale you get what you miss now. Edited March 20, 2019 by 77.CountZero
