well devs could just make it so pilot can not be killed when he bails out, like its in clod,

no other way to stop players from shooting other players after they bail out.

Well yes they could but I don’t like the idea. You shouldn’t need to teach people ethics or mortals.

You hear urban myths about German pilots during the battle of British shooting British pilots. 
As a whole if you think it’s ok to shoot a pilot on their parachute, you have a serious mental problem.

In real life, if you shot a pilot on their chute, you would be sacked and charged with war crimes.

its online video game, if game alows t and server dont have rule ugenst it it will be done by players for what ever reason...

in real life airplane would not just vansh from tin air when your about to shoot it, but in game you have ppl just disco from fight because game alows this, and player doing it gain advantage...

in real nav lights are not bright as search lights of light house, but in game they are and players will abuse it to gain big advantages in team play...

its up to game devs to decide what enviroment they build... they wont players to be able to kill other players when they are in parachutes if they dont then it would be like in clod, player could not be posible to kill other player in chute...

if its to mutch for you you just pick server that dont alow it... but i think that server dont exist in this game as no one have time to police something like that 24/7...

Jabos engined versions of the 190A5 and A6 are available only in 1944 maps but these planes were delivered to units in summer 1943 according my documents...

As of now, they are available when A8/F8 is also available but those planes appeared in Spring 44

 

Evidence :

 

A5U17 (also named F3 - 432 planes were made by Arado between April 1943 and March 1944) :

First delivery in unit in June 1943 at the II./Schl. G.1.

On July 1st, this unit had 18 of them beside 15 Fw190A5.

The I./Schl. G.1 had 17 F3 and 11 A5

The Stab had 2 F3 and 2 A5

Losses reports shows the II./Schl.G1 lost 11 F3 and 3 A5 in July

The Fw 190F-3, heavily armoured came into service in June 1943. On 1 July 1943, first group could field 52 Fw 190s, second group, 15 Fw 190A-5s, 18 F-3s, and 16 Hs 129B-1s.^[21] 4. and 8. Staffel commanded 17 and 16 Hs 129s respectively.^[22]

 

Basically, they appeared slowly but there were some at Kursk so we should have it from Kursk battle map

 

 

G3 (Derivated of the A5/U13 but inside A6 in game) :

First in units in July 1943

(550 planes build at Marienburg factory)

Is there anywhere explaind the scoring system of WOL server? Im a beginer, I just started to get some points for different ground and air targets, but I dont know how much is something "worth". I was searching the forum and google and I didn't find anything...

Hello.
I had no problem playing on this server before (about 4 months ago), but when I played yesterday I had the following problems:
Please let me know if you have a solution.

<Problem>
The engine of BF-109F4 breaks when the throttle opening is 50% to 60%.
The throttle opening displayed on the right side of the screen is 30% or less in continuous mode, 30% or more in combat mode, and 50% or more in emergency mode.
Previously, it was displayed as 80% for takeoff, 60% for cruising, and 70% for combat, and I was able to play normally.
I tried warming up for 30 minutes, setting the radiator to 100% and making it overcool, but when I opened the throttle to 60%, it overheated and the engine broke immediately.

Am I doing something wrong?

Hi Im at Pacific time zone, I cant always see this server alive with players. Its like seeing a server's name but its not lighted like when its playable.

  May i know why? Is it on my zoning?

Hello fellow pilots!
I'm here to beg for the use of custom skins on the WoL server.  My unit flies there often, we have a rather large gang of troublemakers that really enjoy your scenarios and maps.  We just would feel so much more at home and welcome if we could use our squad colors. 
Yes they have the evil NAZI symbol, yes the are offensive to some folks I reckon, but they are very real in thier representation in this context of WWII Air to Air conflict.  We want to see WoL get real too.  We will still fly here and enjoy it.  But we are ready to take the next daring step and see it as it was, even if it was evil.

They can't allow the symbols because it is Illegal to do so in their country. I'm sure they would love to do so but by law are not allowed to.

Also there is small problem of cheating with skins, using alpha layers to make parts of airplane invisable so player can have wonder woman like cockpit, or using bright skins for enemys or tm8s for better SA and so on... skins dont work like they did in old il-2 to avoid this, so servers dont unlock them and only safe default ones are in. So even servers in countries that dont care about swastika bs dont use them, so players have eaqual plate when it comes to skins.

It's not really a big problem, it just spoils our after action report screen shots
And no one would see our evil symbols unless they DLd our skins, which I highly doubt is a popular activity.

As someone who used to play on WoL but stopped:

 

1) The missions mostly seem to be 1941-1943, which is mostly russian maps and early expansions.

2) A lot of my friends wanted to fly US/UK aircraft, and were bored of it mostly being Russian v German.

3) It didn't include ground vehicles, when the other two major servers did.

4) Did not have air spawns for bombers, like other major servers did.

5) Did not have paradrop/supply mechanics like other major servers did.

 

I still enjoyed the server when I played on it, and definitely don't think the server is bad at all! It was good, and I hope some of this helps

in january 22 they had total of 1000+ ppl in august 22 total of 400+, last year august had 1000+ pll total.

so i would not say lack of wast front is what drained ppl from server, its more to real world events ppl avoid server.

And some ppl still belive in fantasy that it would be good idea for next DLC to be east front lol

Combat box can have planty of missions with 41-45 west front and make it interesting not needing east front airplanes, also they said they have no interest in it exept on some events, for east front mix ppl go to VP.

I think it was because people can 'cheat' by having bright pink skins/translucent skins etc. 

Not 100% so anyone in the know, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

yes, and also the way alpha layers work, playr can make skin for him self that have external parts of airplane transparent, so to others it look normal but player using that skin have basicly wonder woman view on servers with realistic view.

 

that was 2 main reasons servers had skins off, and ppls asked for more official skins as they are only ones safe from miss use

An item has been added to the server rules:
6. Don't use the voteban system. If you have something to report about a player behaviour, please report this via the forum https://il2war.ru/ or in private messages to the administrator.
Players will be asked not to use the voteban command unnecessarily.

From Finnish server, it rescue mission, seems has been implemented:

 

Rescue mission details:

Ok, so you ditched/bailed over enemy territory, instead of just rolling the dice that would result to capture / successful escape, you will now be offered the opportunity to rescue your pilot. Once you finish your mission on enemy territory:
- you will get a chat message telling if you can rescue your mission (depending on the area, if there is available free area to land on, otherwise the old dice roll is used), telling you to enter "#r" to chat.

- once entered, you will get a message telling you a rescue area grid(with keypad), or two

- proceed to take off with a plane that you can land into the said area, you will have to land on said keypad (3x3km area)

- land your plane into the rescue site and wait 30s

- once your pilot is onboard, take off again

- proceed to land at any friendly airfield

 

 

Could be nice have this feauture also here, for the russian side for example use also U2 biplane to rescue pilot...

Было бы неплохо иметь эту функцию и здесь, поскольку российская сторона, например, также использует биплан U2 для спасения пилота...

 

Missions to evacuate the wounded and kidnap an enemy aircraft exist on the server. There is also a mission using the Ju-52. In the future, it is planned to carry out several similar missions and a mission using Li-2.

Hi all, just got back into IL2 after a long long break Ive been flying on wings of liberty but I am always given a default name such as player-123 etc. how to I get the server to use my chosen nick name?
