GunnyHighway Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 Is there an English manual for Tank mission making on the STEditor.

Dogbert1953 Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 (edited) Just use the standard mission building manual pdf. I just started having a try of the mission editor with tanks. I am probably going to fail miserably though. I am using this one IL-2_BoS_Mission_Building_Guide.pdf https://www.dropbox.com/s/g9cwk8167zzygfp/IL-2_BoS_Mission_Building_Guide.pdf?dl=1 Mike. Dogbert1953 Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 Easy enough to create a basic no frills SP mission. But apparently, Moscow is out of bounds. I placed 8x T34's defending the outer area of the city. But when i started moving towards them and into their attack zone i set up. I was told to turn around. ? ?. Moscow map but not allowed to attack Moscow. Mike.
Thad Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 Obviously the playable area of the maps are limited. ?
Sketch Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 As others have stated, playable tanks are just like any playable plane entity except they're on the ground. Use the mission builder's guide that @Thad linked earlier but instead of a plane, use a tank. Also, the red section of the Moscow map is considered out of bounds. You'll have to move your logic more Westward if you want the appearance of attacking Moscow. 1

Understood but Moscow shouldn't be off limits for mission creation. Or am i missing the whole picture ? Dogbert1953 Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 Map should be called "Not Moscow" then. Mike. 1
Sketch Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 All these flavors, but you choose salt? (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ Technically, the map isn't called Moscow. It's called The Battle of Moscow. The map covers a campaign that took place between late 1941 to early 1942. Also, to defend the developers, they had stated before they started work on the map, that they were not able to completely build out Moscow and have it function correctly. So they compromised by building the Western portion of Moscow and let us fly near it for a nice visual background. Finally, there are plenty of other nice looking locations for a tank battle. 1 1 4

adler_1 Posted March 13, 2019 Posted March 13, 2019 there were no ground or air battles in or over Moscow city itself to the best of my knowledge . They stopped at the outskirts and the rest is history . 1 1
adler_1 Posted March 14, 2019 Posted March 14, 2019 DOGBERT since Adolph decided he would take over and instructed army center to go to Stalingrad and army south to go conquer the oil fields past Maykop you might consider moving your battles there , both areas are very well covered in the Stalingrad and Kuban map .
Gambit21 Posted March 14, 2019 Posted March 14, 2019 Yep - the German push toward Tuapse and the Russian defense is the perfect scenario. Forget Moscow.
