(MOD request) reduce bullet Ricochet

Is there a way or an MOD that can be build, to delete or strongly reduce the ricochet effect from the bullets when shooting to the ground. They look if they are transforming my guns ricochet to rockets.

I agree.  I see cannon rounds bouncing up from the earth like I was shooting rubber balls.

I think it's a bug or 'issue' and reported it accordingly a few weeks ago.

Are you sure because the same ricochet effect are to be seen in ROF.

But anyway how to reduce or better how to remove that ricochet lasers.

edit it is not only 30mm no, all the guns incl the WW1 guns.

The interesting point is whether it's just a graphic representation issue or a ballistic one, i.e. ricocheting bullets can actually damage another object.

Anyway, I think it's not realistic that bullets shot from a 30 degree angle are not absorbed by the soft soil.

Been there since RoF.

Given that not every round is a tracer, they must be ricocheting like crazy.  A mod would certainly be welcome.

Lets hope, 1c or an modder kan take care of those disco laser effects.

sorry to bump this, but maybe a modder can carry on, with this unrealistic  laserbeams that are returning to the sky.

I know I’m not good in writing down my English and reading your reply, I do not think you get my point, so to be clear on this, another explanation.

My whole point was and  your video also prove I was right, you see those shrapnel or returning bullets are not transforming to  an disco laserBEAM show. So that ricochet effect in BoX is rather hilarious, like in your video, when hitting hard surfaces, a few glowing points would be ok, only not that returning bullet escorted by an ray of smoke effect.

I hope it is now better being explained.

Modders please give us that mod, that will delete that rocket driven ricocheting effect.

All surfaces have different effects.

try firing onto sandy areas near the the sea, the sand would absorb the bullets and bombs somewhat ( saved a lot lives in evacuation on the beaches off Dunkirk )

i am sure the devs will put some time into this in the future, at the moment they most certainly have lots off other things to look into

i do think these laser effects are over done myself, but am happy with the progress off the sim ( hey the devs done wonderful rain effects on windscreen effect so I really think anything is possible)

For what it is worth, this video shows the ricochet effet with cannon rounds bouncing up like rubber balls and with a ray of smoke.

Even from a very shallow angle when the horse cart gets strafed at 01:24.

@UufflakkeI wonder what type of ammunition was used. Several times I see stray tracers spiralling before the burst is shot (e.g. 0:30 or 0:45).

Anyway, compared to the game the footage shows (1) a much lower percentage of ricocheting shells, (2) having a much higher trajectory angle after the impact than before, and (3) changing direction arbitrarily as if they were firework launched from the target (e.g. 0:04). Strange and interesting.
