spamRoast Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 While playing career missions, the game speed is changing in the middle of missions. I don't mean the speed that I can control. I'm not changing the game speed at all; I leave speed of missions at 1/1, but at certain times in the mission, the game is faster on its own. Everything plays faster. I can easily see the problem while landing, and it's most obvious with the humans walking on the airfields who seem like they're speed walking rather than their normal casual walking speed. It seems like a bug in the game loop. I looked to see if I could find flight records that showed it, but interestingly the flight records I have where the speed issue was occurring while playing play at normal speed in the flight record, however, those flight records that I recorded when the game seemed to play faster are the same records that show the flickering first person bug in the post I attached. So to clarify, when I have a flight record where the game speed seemed fine, and I play the flight record, the flickering issue in the attached post does not happen, but the flight records I recorded while the game speed seemed fast are the same flight records that show the flickering in first person view that you can see in the attached post. So the problems seem related in some way. If I can, I'll try to use another tool to record my screen while the game play is faster than normal so you can see it happening, but there's definitely a problem with game speed at certain points in the game. It seems as-if it happens later in missions.
FlyingH Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 Check if you havent assigned a key to more than one command, ie, increes speed and some other command. A few doubles doesn´t make the game put out the little red "flag" to warn of doubles.

I just have the defaults ] and [ to speed up and slow down the game, I'm not hitting them, and seeing no visual cue that the game is being sped up when I notice this bug. It's definitely not changing from something in my control. [EDIT] Another thing to add is that when you fast forward the game the natural way the sound goes away. That is not occurring for me. The sound is still there but the gameplay is faster than the natural feeling, so this is definitely something unnatural. I will attempt to record it with GeForce the next time it happens (and no, i don't normally have GeForce overlay or any others, so it's not that). Edited March 3, 2019 by terrible_pilot
spamRoast Posted March 16, 2019 Author Posted March 16, 2019 I haven't seen this problem since the most recent update(s) of both the game and GeForce drivers, so I think it's resolved (I swear I wasn't drinking or smoking anything!). Just letting devs know it seems to have gone away.
