adler_1 Posted February 10, 2019 Posted February 10, 2019 (edited) hello I have been using the the new template with success since its release and i noticed something a bit odd the area indicated with the red arrows is where the propeller blades are and yet they are covered with layers off some parts which i am not able to identify . Further i cannot get to the blades should i wish to color or weather the parts . Can someone please explain to me why is that so or correct my observations . thanks Edited February 10, 2019 by dog1
Raptorattacker Posted February 10, 2019 Posted February 10, 2019 (edited) I think you'll find that the actual blades are part of the games built - in .gtp files which ergo means that there's little you can do about them. You CAN extract the files and edit them but then you need to have 'Mods On' checked to see your edit. I did the same thing with the tyres on the Sturmovik and quite honestly came to the conclusion that it wasn't worth the effort. To find out which parts are editable/not editable then just put a red layer over the entire file and save it and the ones that aren't red in the Viewer are the .gtp files. Not much help I know but I hope it clears it up for you. Rap Edited February 10, 2019 by Raptorattacker
adler_1 Posted February 10, 2019 Author Posted February 10, 2019 i) why have they put these parts on top of the blades which are important objects for skinners to weather ? 2) what are these objects ? 3) why is'nt it the same as the A3 and A5 ? hope the maker of the template will respond
Pierre64 Posted February 10, 2019 Posted February 10, 2019 (edited) Hi @dog1, These new parts are optional armour plates of some A8s, not present on previous Fw 190s versions. To make room to these plates, propeller blades textures are removed from skins .dds files to "fw190a8_2.dds". You can find this file in Planes3.gtp and edit it with your graphics program as a mod. As an exemple, I just added RLM 70 paint and fantasy red stencils "f1"(for front), "f2" and "f3". Edited February 10, 2019 by Pierre64 1
