Just an empty zip folder here. Nevermind. Thanks for your reply.

OK, last go.  Just deleted everything and re-downloaded from the original link.  Should be 390kb in size.

Does not download for me either.

Says Windows can not open - invalid folder.

Edit: Must be opened with 7zip as KgpQuop says below.

@DD_ArthurGot it ok and it opens fine. Thanks! :drinks:

Thanks DD_Arthur. The compressed file does not open with the Windows extractor but unpacks just fine with 7zip.

I got it fine with 7 zip too, Arthur.

Think from some very quick testing it might affect the increased draw distance of smoke, if you use that mod, but will check more (changing load order etc).

Lol much better than the vanilla game. Well done!

The mod mentioned (removing) a 'blue tint' effect in the folder title. What could that be, I'm not sure?

dear team and community, is it possible in the future to integrate this mod as an official option. indeed,it allow to set draw distance to 40km for low performance systems like mine and have no haze like if draw distance was set to 150km. with this 40km setting, I have no stutter anymore .

thank for this mod and this great game

regards

It is very beautiful ! I will test that in VR.

But it's not considered cheating?

Are you using 7-Zip to extract the files from the download?

https://www.7-zip.org/download.html

Install 7-Zip from the above link. Then when you download the Mod right click on the file folder and select 'Extract with 7-Zip'. This should open the download folder to the Mod which you then move to appropriate folder in BOS. Use the JS Generic Mod Enabler to activate/deactivate the Mod for use in game.

Thank you, but in the US I can't download the actual file we are talking about, being blocked everytime.

Did you try to download it from DD_Arthur's last post on Feb 6th?

Could we please make no haze an official option. (Especially for VR flying.)

Yeah it should be an ingame option to remove haze. Having haze in the game in vr makes it look shite compared to say vr in dcs

It won't function at all in online play, unless the server has mods enabled.

It's a visual mod, not a gameplay mod.  I believe that is what the Dev's and most of us are concerned about, a mod that gives a player an advantage over another like Uber plane performance, vulnerability, ammo loadouts, (109E's with Sidewinder missiles) and maneuverability.  You still need to be able to find the planes and attack successfully.  This mod does not make that any easier, just makes the game look nicer and for some with low end machines improves the frame rate performance.

I'm not using this mod so I don't know it's structure, but if the archive contains a MOD folder then it's been made for JSGME. (Google it.) Download that, and use it to install this mod.

Thing is none of that actually matters, because servers can choose to enable mods or not... and most don't, it seems. So they're protected from "cheating". Mods are more a singleplayer thing, so it's up to individual users if they want to use mods that give them an "unfair" advantage or not, since it's only their own experience which is affected.

@  JaMz_SoLo,
No, do not place the MODS folder in your "data' folder.  The game will not recognize it.
You place the 'MODS' folder in your main game folder.  Install JSGME in there as well as use it to enable/disable the mod.  All mods can be done that way and should be (IMO) as it makes it easier to use the mod and if you don't like it you can easily remove it without hunting through sometimes several other sub-folders trying to find the elements of a mod.

@ Goffik, Some servers do and that is the point.  It does matter.
